Filippo Berio Pasta Sauces
The most-bought olive oil brand has launched a collection of authentically Italian pasta sauces. Using all-natural ingredients including the brand's extra virgin olive oil and naturally sweet Italian tomatoes, Filippo Berio has created four recipes – all of which are gluten free and suitable for both vegetarian and vegan diets. Basilico is a fragrant Italian basil sauce with naturally sweet Italian tomatoes; Arrabbiata has a touch of chilli spiciness with just the right amount of heat; Olive uses specially selected ripe olives for added depth; and Verdure Grigliate draws flavour from grilled vegetables such as aubergines, peppers and courgette.
Journey’s End Spekboom Syrah 2022
Journey’s End Vineyards, the award-winning Stellenbosch-based winery, has launched its Spekboom Syrah 2022. This vibrant, medium-bodied red is named for the vineyard’s ongoing green project – the planting of spekboom thickets on the farm – and is now on shelves at Sainsbury’s for £10. Made from 100% sustainably sourced syrah grapes, the flavour profile of the wine is typical of the coastal wine growing region of Stellenbosch, where cooling winds help the grapes retain their fresh, clean and elegant fruit flavours.
Sweden’s number one coffee brand, Löfbergs, is extending its range of organic and Brazilian coffees in the UK with the launch of a new flavour, Fika Dark Roast Ground Coffee. Now in Tesco, Fika is inspired by the Swedish tradition of taking a moment to disconnect from your work and reconnect with others. Each bag is filled with high-quality, flavour-packed coffee, meaning you can get 75 cups from its 450g pack – which is nearly 20 more than most bags of coffee on the market.
Tarantella Liquid Herbs
Tarantella has unveiled a range of convenient, organic liquid herbs and spices. Ideal for busy evenings, each bottle delivers an intense taste derived from traditional fresh or dried herbs and spices – without the worry of waste. These new store-cupboard essentials can be kept for two years without losing any flavour and they don’t need to be stored in the fridge once opened. Each bottle contains around two herb plants. There are nine options to choose from – including rosemary, garlic and ginger – and each can be used for marinating meats and vegetables, creating dips, flavouring risottos and bringing a final flourish to pizza and pasta.
Ferrero Rocher & Raffaello Ice-Creams
Top chocolate brands Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello have released their long-awaited ice-cream range. Across three flavours, fans can enjoy the nostalgic tastes of Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello in ice-cream form for the first time. The Ferrero Rocher Classic combines the iconic taste of Ferrero Rocher with smooth hazelnut flavoured ice-cream, while Ferrero Rocher Dark offers a richer taste experience, with a refined Ferrero dark chocolate coating and crunchy roasted hazelnut pieces. Meanwhile, the Raffaello dessert comprises refreshing coconut-flavoured ice-cream covered in a crispy white coating and a sprinkling of coconut shavings and crunchy almond pieces.
Holy Moly Hummus
We’re big fans of Holy Moly’s ready-to-eat guacamole packs. The brand has now expanded its range with the launch of two hummus flavours. Combining the convenience of shop-bought hummus with the deliciousness of homemade, its original and pesto hummus are the first in the UK to use cold pressure/HPP technology, so your unopened hummus will last longer in the fridge – without the help of preservatives. The brand claims they will last three times longer than current shop-bought alternatives, which in turn helps reduce food waste.
Charlie Bigham’s New Collection
Cooked from scratch in small batches, Charlie Bigham’s has long been a supermarket go-to for anyone wanting to take a night off cooking. This year, the high-end pre-prepped brand has launched a collection of wholesome dishes, including chicken and ham en croute, steak and ale pie, chicken satay curry with fragrant rice, mushroom risotto and smoked haddock gratin. We have our eye on the sharing steak pie for a simple Sunday lunch.
Bold Bean Co Queen Red & Black Beans
Bold Bean Co is the pulse brand you didn’t know you needed, and are some of the very best jarred beans we’ve cooked with. This season, the team has launched two new varieties into the range. After asking its community what beans it should develop in a poll on Instagram, black and red beans came up trumps. Grown in Canada, the queen black beans have a flavour that’s rich, earthy and slightly nutty – a quality which holds up against punchy Asian sauces and chillies. Try them in a Mexican-inspired shakshuka or braised in miso butter, loaded with kimchi and stir-fried veg.
Crosta & Mollica Al Forno Range
Crosta & Mollica – a brand perhaps best loved for its collection of authentic antipasti accompaniments – has released a range of al forno (baked) dishes, which all stay true to classic Italian recipes. From lasagne to linguine, each dish has been slowly simmered to develop the rich flavours of comforting Italian food, before being frozen. We’ve tried and loved its aubergine parmigiana and linguine alla pescatora – octopus, squid, prawn and mussels in a rich tomato passata, simmered with white wine and parsley, which can be stashed in the freezer for a quick and easy weeknight meal.
Leon Tomato Ketchup
Healthy fast-food joint Leon has a new store cupboard staple on supermarket shelves. Always inspired by the principles of the Mediterranean diet, Leon’s freshest creation is full of vegetables and flavour. This ketchup has a sweet tomato base, infused with sun-dried tomato pieces, red peppers and a little clove, which gives the sweet base a wonderfully savoury kick.
Kabuto Sriracha Mac N’ Cheese Pots
Kabuto – normally known for its ‘posh pot noodles’ – has branched out to create two mac n’ cheese pots, which come in original and sriracha chilli flavours. Ready in four minutes, each pot contains a market-leading 12g of protein, plus there are no additives, preservatives or artificial colours. All Kabuto products are now 100% vegetarian and, when you’re done, you can pop the whole thing into the recycling.
Guittard Baking Chips
San Francisco’s Guittard Chocolate Company now sells three of its celebrated chocolate chips on Ocado. The range includes Green Mint, delivering creamy dairy notes with a smooth, cool mint flavour; Butterscotch, which brings a rich, comforting caramel-flavoured chip to the likes of blondies; and Choc au Lait baking chips, made using luxuriously milky, white chocolate and a hint of real vanilla to create complex, balanced and sweet chips.
Party-Sized Porta 6 Red
Porta 6 Red is a blend of 50% aragonês, 40% castelão and 10% touriga nacional grapes. Complex, with red and wild berries and hints of nuts, it has a soft mouthfeel with a medium finish, making it the perfect pairing for meat, roasts and pastas. Now it’s available in a party-sized bag-in-a-box (2.25l) with a label that celebrates Lisbon life and the city’s famous yellow trams.
English Cheesecake Company’s Frozen Cheesecake Tubs
English Cheesecake Company has created two frozen products, including the first frozen cheesecake in a tub to hit supermarket shelves. Its Frozen Cheesecake Tubs and Frozen Cheesecake Bites come in a range of flavours (Strawberries & Cream, Chocolate Fudge & Cookie Dough, Vanilla with Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake, Mango & Passion Fruit and Salted Caramel & Blondie) made using top-quality, vegan ingredients. We love the sound of the last one, which is filled with frozen creamy cheesecake with salted caramel ripple, white chocolate blondie cubes and chunks of digestive biscuit.
Cinnamon Kitchen At-Home Chilled Range
Add a touch of spice to your dinner with Cinnamon Kitchen’s ‘at home’ range, which features mains for one, tiffin box complete meals, sharing centrepieces and sides. Main meals for one include prawn moilee, lamb rogan josh and butter chicken while centrepieces serving two include tandoori chicken with gunpowder potatoes.
Ueshima Coffee Company Capsules
Ueshima Coffee Company, Japan’s number one coffee brand, has now arrived in Sainsbury’s. Established in Kobe in 1933, Ueshima is keen to introduce Japanese coffee culture across Europe, encouraging people to slow down and enjoy the distinct flavours of its three blends – Tokyo Roast, House Blend and Fuji Mountain. The Sainsbury’s range includes beans, roast and ground coffee and Nespresso-compatible aluminium capsules.
