7 Beauty Looks We're Loving This Month
Claudia Neascu
The Look: Raspberry Lips & Highlighted Skin
How To Do It: Proof that pink lips are still on trend in 2020. Try recreating this fresh pout by using a shade like Laura Mercier’s Lipstick in Rose Mandarine. To get the same diffused finish as Claudia did here, use your finger to apply the colour, pushing it into the lips. For similar, sheeny skin, keep your base make-up to a minimum, and use a sheer formula like the Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid – the formula is creamy and blendable for a soft-focus glow. Then, go over the skin and any areas you want to highlight with a dusting of BECCA’s Pearl Glow Luster Powder, focusing a little on the inner corners of the eyes and down the bridge of the nose. As for cheeks, add a flush of colour with a liquid texture like Benefit’s Benetint for a pretty, pink gleam.

Fanny Maurer
The Look: Gunmetal Smokey
How To Do It: This smokey eye is perfect for parties and was applied using Jillian Dempsey’s Kohl Black Liner and Kat Von D’s Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette. The latter is no longer available in the UK, but an affordable dupe is Revolution’s Ultra Eye Contour Palette. Start by using a creamy black liner in the outer and inner corners of the eyes, then gently blend the line with either your fingers or a flat brush. Line the inner waterline, too, before using a black shadow from the palette to set the liner in place and amp up intensity. Next, use a white shadow in the centre of the lids to create a similar contrast – blending the edges between black and white for a smooth finish. Finally, apply some individual lashes, like Fanny did here, and use lash curlers before loading on the mascara.

Hung Vanngo
The Look: Burnished, Bronze Tones
How To Do It: Created for the Oscars, Hung used Lancôme products to create Penelope Cruz’s red-carpet make-up. His Instagram shows a full breakdown of everything which was used, but we’re particularly interested in the beautiful, smouldering eyes. Using Lancôme’s Terre de Sienne palette, layering up several shades helped to create the warm smokey you see here, finished off by layering the middle colour on top. Lips were kept neutral with a slick of the brand’s Couer De Ruby, while skin was highlighted with the new Duo Stick In Light Pink, with a focus on the apples of the cheeks and brow bones.

James Molloy
The Look: Statement Flicks & Orange Lips
How To Do It: Glossy skin and statement liner was the order of the day for this impactful look. To replicate, try sculpting these eye flicks with a gel liner, like Illamasqua’s, for extra control and precision. A top tip is to draw the line on with kohl first, before going over it with your gel – that way, you have a guideline to work with. As for the high gloss skin, James used his fingers to press in Danessa Myricks Dew Wet Balm across the cheekbones, down the nose and onto the lids. Lips were sculpted with 3CE Lip Pigment in Staycation, which may look bold, but thanks to its sheer texture, it’s easy to build up or thin out for a more wearable finish.

Fanny Maurer
The Look: Statement-Making Lipstick
How To Do It: This deep, red wine lip is perfect for any occasion and was applied using a matte lipstick, such as IT Cosmetics Pillow Lips in Stellar. Sweep on directly from the bullet for best results. For the rest of the face, make-up artist Fanny kept skin pared back with minimum foundation, and layered lids with a sheer gloss for a subtle highlight. Finally, brows were swept into shape with cult product, Soap Brows, to bring structure to the look. Ideal for days where you want to make minimal effort, but still look pulled together.

Nikki de Roest
The Look: Reflective Skin & Shimmery Eyes
How To Do It: Softly bronzed from lids to cheeks, this subtly sculpted look is incredibly wearable and flattering on all skin tones. Nikki used Chanel’s cult Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation all over the skin, before using a brush to apply Kjaer Weis’ Cream Blush in Abundance directly onto the apples of the cheeks. For the eyes, Nikki used a few layers of Kjaer Weis’ Cream Shadow in Alluring on lids, before applying Róen Beauty’s Summer Disco shade on top for a hint of shimmer. To finish off, keep brows sculpted by pencilling in hairs gently, then use a spoolie brush to sweep the colour through and keep arches neat – Nikki used Roen’s vowBROW here.

Penny Antuar
The Look: Seriously Glossy Skin
How To Do It: We’re all about this glossy eye that reflects the light beautifully. Simple yet sophisticated, make-up artist Penny used Fenty’s Gloss Bomb in Diamond Milk all over the eyelids for that enviable high-shine finish. As for the skin, it was left bare, using just Laura Mercier’s Radiance Primer and NARS concealer to correct areas that needed minimal coverage. Cheeks were sculpted with Tom Ford’s Shade + Illuminate palette for extra definition, while brows were brushed into place, then set with balm for a clean and defined finish.
