The Products Our Beauty Editor Has Finished This Month

As you can imagine, SL beauty editor Rebecca Hull tries and tests hundreds of new products that land on her desk each week, so it’s rare she actually finishes a product. When she does, you can be sure it’s something worth shouting about. From beauty classics to new, glow-giving essentials, here are her latest empties…
01

OGX Coconut Miracle Penetrating Oil, £7.37

Thanks to ingredients such as coconut oil and vanilla extract, this softening oil prevents breakage and nourishes hair that’s been dyed or chemically treated. Just a small amount run through damp strands leaves hair looking healthier and shinier right away, without the tell-tale grease. Plus, the signature scent is reminiscent of sunscreen and holidays.

Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Cream, £42

The name alone makes this luxe cream enticing. Formulated with rosewater, it has a beautiful, velvety texture that sinks in fast, soothing and plumping skin simultaneously. The addition of aloe water gets rid of any redness, while kukui oil lends an unbeatable dewiness to the skin – perfect pre-make-up application. It’s cruelty-free, too.

03

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops, £30

If you want a subtle boost to your skin tone, look no further than these glow-giving drops. They allow you to tailor your bronze accordingly, no matter your natural complexion. Add one to two drops to your usual serum or moisturiser for an all-over sunshiny glow, or take it up a notch with four drops for a deeper finish. Ideal for all-year round.

Erborian Bamboo Glow, £21

Quench parched skin with bamboo sap and glycerine, and give your skin just the right amount of glow. Whether tapped onto cheekbones, the cupid’s bow, eyelids or all over for maximum radiance, skin will look illuminated and plump. Try mixing a little with your highlighter or foundation for extra luminosity, too.

05

MILK Make-Up KUSH High Volume Mascara, £20.50

This is my absolute go-to when it comes to mascara. It gives serious impact with just one swipe, while the CBD-oil formula conditions lashes, and keeps lumps at bay. While the brush is large, you still have control over how much you apply, and the smaller tip of the wand is great for reaching the inner and outer corners of the eye, too.

06

Avene Hydrance Rich Hydrating Cream, £10.86 (was £14.49)

Rich in nourishing oils and shea butter, this is a luxurious dry skin moisturiser that has the texture of silk. A mega dose of hydration, it plumps and revives tired-looking skin in just days, keeping complexions clear and smooth – but most importantly, soft and nourished.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, £33

A beauty classic – Clarins’ peach-toned Flash Balm is a true staple. One of the most coveted – and copied – beauty products ever, it still has a firm place in many insiders’ kits, and with good reason. Lending a suits-all dose of luminosity, it evens out skin tone instantly. It also acts like a primer, but without any stickiness or pilling seen with some other formulas. Apply it just before your foundation for a glass-skin effect.

Glossier Cloud Paints in Beam & Puff, £15

These pigmented liquids need no introduction. Both Beam & Puff are regular empties for me, and they blend together beautifully for a healthy glow. They’re easy to just tap on with fingers, but it’s the sheer texture that makes them so unique. Once applied, they sink in almost instantly and leave a plump, dewy sheen before you’ve even applied your highlighter.
