8 Make-Up Looks To Try This Christmas
Jasmine Daniels, make-up by Mali Magic, beauty entrepreneur & creator of the #DewyBrownGirls
The Look: Glossy Skin & Rich Lips
How To Create It: “To recreate this, you first need to begin by properly hydrating your skin,” explains Mali. “Skin prep is the most important step in your application process – no matter what look you’re creating. Try massaging in a thin amount of Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Moisture Balm. Next, use a sheer amount of foundation, building it up in very gradual layers, before setting in place with just a small dusting of powder for a dewy finish – only use this around the eye and on the side of the nose. Set everything else with skin finishers and glow enhancers. Also, use eye pencils as a base for any eyeshadows and then use your fingers to blend everything out.” As for the lips, Mali applied Bobbi Brown’s Lip Pencil in Sangria, before finishing the look with MAC’s Lip Colour in Night Moth.

Krisly Selena San, make-up by Chynara Kojoeva
The Look: Feline Flicks & Soft, Shimmer Lids
How To Create It: “This was initially created as wedding make-up inspiration, but it can be a great look year round – especially at Christmas,” explains Chynara. “Start by prepping the skin with Rodial’s Dragon Blood Hyaluronic Moisturiser to give the skin a dewy glow, before layering Krisly’s lids with Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyeshadow Jewel Pot in Walk of No Shame.” Chynara also used the cult Soapbrows tin to sweep arches into place, alongside SweedLashes, Tete a Tete, at the corners of the eyes for a widening effect. Finally, lips were swept with a layer of Kiko’s On The Go Lipgloss in Dark Mauve for a plumping finish.

Lauren Mitchell, make-up by James Molloy
The Look: Smokey Brown Eyes
How To Create It: “This look is quite flawless, so you need to invest in a foundation that has a creamy consistency,” says James. “Focus on highlighting underneath your eyes with a brightening concealer – this will enhance the smokey eye you come to build. Try using a brown eye liner as a base to the eye look, and simply blend it all over your eyelids with a soft, fluffy brush. This will help to add depth and build intensity. As for lashes, try using individual falsies at the corners of the eye to extend the feline effect, without having to rely on any winged liner. Finally, highlight the centre of your lids with a frosted shadow to bring out a bit of brightness. Another hack is to use a flesh-coloured pencil inside your waterline – this also has a brightening effect, especially if you’re wearing anything dark.”

Robyn Schrikker, make-up by Vivis Makeup
The Look: Bronzed Skin & Winged Liner
How To Create It: This look was as much about the bronzed, dewy skin as it was fine, winged liner. To replicate it, look to a sheer foundation – like the Dior one used here – and apply it in thin, sheer layers. Then, tap on a balmy highlighter to the highest points of your face, like Vivi did here – focusing on the cheekbones, cupid’s bow and bridge of the nose. As for the winged eyeliner, opt for a gel formulation and apply it with a fine nibbed brush. This will allow you to get the same precision – just be sure to take a light-handed approach as you apply it.

Katie Jane Hughes, make-up by herself
The Look: Gunmetal Smokey Eyes
How To Create It: “The easiest way to copy this smokey, glittery eye is by first taking an eye pencil or shadow,” says Katie. “Use this at the outer and inner corners working backwards to trace the shape of your lid. It will look ghoulish to begin with, but it’s the easiest way of preventing any glitter you apply on top from looking too flat or heavy. Once you’ve layered up this base, start layering on some smokey, grey shimmer. It can be lighter in tone than the eye pencil you used, but never darker, as you want to create a brightness. Start by applying the glitter with your ring finger and dab it directly onto the middle of your eyelids. Then, build it up as much as you like under the lower lash line, too – it’s as simple as that.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, make-up by Katie Jane Hughes
The Look: Caramel Shimmer & Neutral Lips
How To Create It: “For this look, follow the exact same process as the one for above,” adds Katie. “Keep the focus on the eyes and balance the everything out with a neutral, flesh-toned lip.” Add a soft, healthy flush of colour, too, like Katie did here – this will keep everything looking fresh with an ‘English rose glow.’

Lex Carringtonn, make-up by Natalie Venti
The Look: Rich, Grunge Cat Eyes
How To Create It: “I really took my time to build this smokey eye,” explains Natalie. “When doing a dramatic look like this you need to create layers for that rich intensity. For this, I used a mix of Make-Up Forever and Inglot products. I love both these brands because they have the richest pigments, as well as a professional quality that allows me to create real intensity. Run some shimmer underneath your eyes, like I did here, for an eye-opening effect.” Keep the rest of your skin neutral, as well as your lips, to focus on the eye area. Fluff up your brows, too, with a gel for the same bushiness created here.

Bianca Indoleanu, make-up by Lorraine
The Look: A Classic Smokey
How To Create It: “To recreate this look, you need to be sure that you are only focusing on the eyes,” says Lorraine. “If you want to do a dark smokey eye, the brows, skin and lips must be left bare – but with just a hint of luminosity and sheen. For the sculpted brows, use BABY By Lorraine Brow Elixir in Espresso and set them into place with some BroWax Setter. The skin was kept glossy with Dior’s Backstage Foundation and a smattering of BECCA’s cult Highlighter on top, over the highest points of the face. As for the eyes, these were created with a rich black eyeshadow – try Illamasqua’s Artristry Palette. They have the richest tones that really go the distance in terms of longevity.”
