The 2025 Tweakment Trends To Know
Skin Rejuvenation Over ‘Beautification’
“In my clinic, I have always focused on rejuvenating and regenerative treatments rather than injecting filler, changing someone’s profile or performing so-called ‘beautification’ treatments. Instead, our team is passionate about regenerative treatments – applied using both devices and injections – such as polynucleotides and skin boosters. It’s what my ethos is all about, and next year we predict more people will be looking into these treatments instead of just opting for injectables.”
More Demand For Radiofrequency
“Sylfirm is a fully FDA-approved treatment that uses both pulsed and continuous waves of radio frequency. It’s a very good alternative to laser treatments, and it can also treat post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation conditions caused by lasers. It’s a unique technology and, unlike many of its competitors on the market, is very comfortable with barely any pain or downtime. Expect to hear more about it in 2025.”
Layering Different Treatments
“My favourite combination at the moment is skin prep with polynucleotides (injectable regenerative treatments that activate fibroblasts) followed by an energy-based device like ultrasound, laser or radio frequency, depending on patients concerns. Finally, I like to follow that up with a topical application of exosomes. It’s like an extra push for collagen and elastin production. Already we’re seeing more people opting for this ‘layering’ approach and we only see demand increasing from here.”
Increasing Patient Power
“Many patients are coming in and asking not to have certain treatments. We live in a world of information and patients now research what they want prior to coming in. High on the list of ‘not wants’ are fillers (or at least those that look unnatural and overinflated) and treatments that have highly publicised side effects and significant downtime.”
Prevailing Body Positivity
“I’m barely performing any standalone fat freezing treatments these days. I always compare my body contouring treatments to a dress – multiple layers, think fat, muscle and skin. These are the pillars of great results but also vitality and longevity. I’m happy to see my patients now thinking in terms of ‘strong is the new slim’. For a good few years, I would get patients coming in trying to fully change their shape or erase any curves from their bodies. What I see now is more of a gentle change, enhancing their natural appearance. The body positivity movement has become so incredibly beneficial not only for those wanting to embrace their bodies but also for those seeking confidence in themselves.”
Less-Is-more Practitioners Are The Better Choice
I treat my patients with ‘less is more’ philosophy. I apply this not only to injecting regenerative medicine but to my device and laser treatments. Over the past 20 years aesthetic devices have progressed significantly and become very powerful to the point that a non-invasive face lift is actually a thing. With great power comes great responsibility, otherwise known as side effects. And as with any other medical procedures we must be strictly aware and consult our patients of potential risks. This is why even with devices it’s incredibly important to work on ‘less is more’ approach. Choose wisely! Prevention is my ethos in work and I realise that subtle regular treatments can offer much better and safer results in the long term.
The Future Is Holistic
We are seeing a longer life expectancy, and increased number of weight loss patients and focus on muscle mass and mobility. Skin and muscle rejuvenation will continue to grow in demand. I believe we will continue to move away from simple ‘look good’ aesthetics to a more holistic approach and I see devices and technology as part of that future holistic solution.
