If you want to go all out, Kalesma is the place to book. Easily one of the most exciting new hotels in Mykonos, it opened its doors back in May. Where To Eat & Drink

Spilia

This seaside restaurant is tucked away inside Agia Anna cave on a platform overhanging the rocks. Spilia has been a Mykonos institution for over 30 years and has recently undergone a renovation. It’s also got a new menu showcasing an array of fresh seafood including oysters, mussels, urchins, crayfish and lobsters.

Nōema

Nōema is a new restaurant and bar from the group behind The Ivy Collection that opened its doors last month. In Little Venice, the menu is predominantly pescatarian and vegetarian, ranging from raw meze to feasting platters made from local, seasonal produce. Expect dishes like crispy octopus with wild oregano, sun-dried mackerel in lemon verbena sauce, charred beets with hazelnut pesto and yoghurt, and slow-roast pork chops with a cinnamon-anise crust. During the evenings, diners are treated to impromptu DJ sets that finish in the early hours.

This award-winning restaurant has plenty to get excited about. In Mykonos Town, its owned by the luxury Relais & Châteaux group, which is known for fine dining in beautiful locations. The menu showcases modern Greek dishes like red mullet with parsley root, grapes and beetroot; octopus with pea purée; lobster, bulgur wheat and truffle served with cauliflower sauce and mushrooms; and fluffy creme patisserie with sour cherries and pistachio.

Scorpios

If you want to mingle with celebs, head to Scorpios, easily one of the best beach clubs on the island. Expect traditional Mediterranean dishes made with local ingredients, served in a now iconic dining room decorated with rattan lampshades and furniture – you probably saw it on Insta when the England football team went to Mykonos after the Euros. Scorpios invites world-class DJs, musicians and dancers to lead sunset rituals (not as hippie as it sounds) and set a vibe that is distinctly more chilled out and grown-up than at some of the other beach clubs on the island. Enjoy one of the mezze boards on the terrace then kick back with a refreshing melon margarita.

Kiki’s Tavern

This taverna near Agios Sostis beach is a great spot for a long lunch or sunset drinks. There’s no reception or wi-fi, so expect to go totally off grid during your visit. Instead, enjoy unobstructed coastal views and simple plates of seafood, Greek salads and grilled meat. After your meal, take a dip in the sea or relax on the sand to soak up the last of the sunshine.

If you’re after a great brunch spot, head to newbie Valenos. Choose from a range of breakfast options like eggs benedict, granola bowls and French toast, or head to the bar in the evenings for drinks – the watermelon martinis are particularly good.

For fine dining, head to Mikrasia inside the luxury Katikies hotel. The menu features traditional Greek dishes with a twist, like lamb with yogurt and capers, watermelon tartar with sheep’s yogurt, and pastry bites served alongside Greek coffee or Anatolian tea.

SantAnna Mykonos X Rose Beach Club

SantAnna is another top beach club that throws epic pool parties and hosts a range of DJs and musicians right through to the end of the season in October. Guests can reserve a day bed around the pool or relax in sun loungers on the beach, with drinks and snacks. SantAnna also serves delicious seafood and meze platters, as well as sushi and sashimi.

This restaurant is loved by tourists and locals alike for its fresh seafood and laidback atmosphere. Where To Party

Paradise Club Mykonos

Often voted one of the best nightclubs in the world, head to Paradise Club to dance. All-day parties start in the afternoon by the beach and finish in the club in the early hours. Erick Morillo and Tiësto have both played the venue, which attracts up-and-coming DJs from around the world.

Cavo Paradiso

Guests can party until the early hours every single night at Cavo Paradiso. Something of a Mykonos institution, the club made its name when a string of top DJs took up residencies during the 90s. Today, expect to hear house, techno and synth from DJs who get the crowd going with killer sets.

Scarpa

This small cocktail bar in Little Venice is a great spot for drinks or watching the sunset with a glass of champagne. Enjoy coffee and breakfast on the terrace in the morning, then head to the dancefloor when the DJs turn up.

Skandinavian Bar deserves its reputation as a slick party hotspot. Tucked away on a street in Little Venice, there are three bars and a courtyard where you can dance the night away – getting up on the tables is always encouraged.

Where To Visit

Elia Beach

This unofficial nudist beach is one of the island’s most beautiful. Hire a sun lounger for the day or bring your own towel to lie on the sand before swimming in its crystal-clear waters.

Panagia Paraportiani 

Panagia Paraportiani is the island’s most iconic church. Dating back to the 15th century, there are four small chapels inside – plus another on an upper storey which can be reached by a staircase. 

Archaeological Museum

If you’re after a bit of culture, head to the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos to see a range of ruins and ancient artefacts, some of which date back to 420BC. From here, you can also book a tour of Chora village, one of the most interesting and beautiful spots on the island.

Olive Oil Shops

Mykonos is famed for its olive oil, so be sure to bring back a bottle from your trip. Little Venice has a great selection, as do most local supermarkets.

Ancient Delos

According to ancient Greek mythology, this archaeological site is where Leto, wife of Zeus, gave birth to twins Apollo and Artemis. Today, it’s a Unesco World Heritage Site with a commercial centre where visitors can learn about the ancient Greeks.
