Owned by husband-and-wife team Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich, Honey & Co is a collection of family run restaurants serving delicious Middle Eastern food – its roasted mauve aubergine with a BBQ tahini crust and jewelled rice salad is full of flavour and the kitchen makes some of the best baklava in town. These days, the kitchen also caterers for everything from intimate dinners at home to weddings and meetings. Rosanna Stevens is a trained chef who creates all sorts of dishes and menus – alongside wine pairings and plating suggestions – which are then posted on her website, Rosanna Etc, for readers to recreate at home. However, she also occasionally caters herself – recently she cooked up a delicious selection of salads for a SheerLuxe working lunch, so we can attest to the excellence of her courgette ribbon, orzo and whipped ricotta salad; and shredded chicken in cucumber yoghurt dressing.

Humdingers Catering is an independent caterer and event planner based in Hoxton. Like many, Humdingers struggled when the pandemic hit. Despite that negative impact, it used the profits of its catering business to open a soup kitchen to feed the local community – and in 2020, founder Robert was awarded a British Empire Medal by the Queen for his work to provide food for people in his community. Humdingers has since flourished into a popular catering company for weddings, events, location shoots, fashion houses, studios and companies across London. Its Bakery and Soup Kitchen is on Hoxton Street and the team has recently expanded its bakery and café to London’s Museum of the Home.

Using seasonal ingredients, Rose & Food aims to create menus that fit both visions and budgets. Arnold & Henderson
Melanie Arnold and Margot Henderson – the duo behind the ever-popular Rochelle Canteen restaurant in Shoreditch – produce parties and events of all kinds and in all sorts of places, even catering for one of Kate Moss’s bashes. Each menu is informed by the season and character of the event, making the food as memorable as the occasion. The company can do canapé parties, charity fundraisers, cocktails, dinners, launches, openings, shoots, weddings and more. Even the canapés sound amazing – think radishes and celery salt, anchovy toast and salsify and parmesan crisps.
North Street Deli
Often, catering options can be an array of overpriced, pre-made, plastic-wrapped platters. At North Street Deli in Clapham – which also happens to be one of the SL team’s favourite lunch spots – an authentic, Italian-inspired selection of sandwiches, salads and spreads are available – ideal for meetings, birthdays and BBQs. Using seasonal ingredients, its menu changes throughout the year, but expect to be able to order the likes of hearty grain salads featuring roasted pepper, borlotti beans, sweetcorn, paprika and herb dressing and pasta such as beef ragu.

Pasta e Basta is a fresh pasta company based in Hackney. The team makes pasta, gnocchi and ravioli using freshly cracked free-range eggs and organic Shipton Mill semolina, while its pesto, sauces and ragus are always made from scratch using seasonal ingredients. If you’re organising an event for your staff or clients, Pasta E Basta can take care of the food, from small bites to big dishes. Its excellent-sounding canapé menu features ’nduja croquettes and smoked mozzarella arancini, followed by bowls of homemade pasta, such as its well-loved beetroot gnocchi. Antipasti boards are another speciality.
