13 London Openings To Know About This Season
HOTELS
At Sloane, Chelsea
Tucked just off Sloane Square, striking hotel At Sloane is leaning into London’s renewed appetite for late nights with a new after-hours dining concept. Inspired by its Parisian sister Hôtel Costes, long synonymous with fashion week dinners and discreet decadence, the hotel has introduced a 24-hour menu designed to extend the rhythm of the evening. Served in a softly lit bar with DJs or delivered up to bedrooms, the offering centres on elegant, shareable plates – from lobster pasta and steamed prawn dim sum to petits croques and crisp allumette fries. Desserts lean classic, with chocolate fondant tart, pavlova and red berries rounding things off.

RESTAURANTS & BARS
Café 1922, Chelsea
For the first time in its 100-year history, The Sloane Club has opened its doors to the public with Café 1922, a neighbourhood café and bakery on Lower Sloane Street. Designed by Russell Sage Studio, the space moves seamlessly from daytime coffee spot to evening wine bar, offering an all-day menu shaped around handmade pastries and seasonal dishes. At its core is the bakery, where head baker Luke Walsh-Landles creates viennoiserie each morning, including the Sloane Pain au Suisse – a savoury take on the classic pastry, layered with béchamel, smoked ham and cheeses. At night, the focus shifts to low-intervention wines, with a thoughtful by-the-glass list and regular tastings and supper clubs.

Tavern, Shoreditch
From the team behind Restaurant St Barts in Smithfield, Tavern reimagines the classic British tavern with a lighter touch. The dining room is understated – picture white tablecloths, dark wood and candlelight – and the menu serves seasonal British produce, beginning with smaller plates like smoked cod’s roe with crisp pig skin or Lindisfarne oysters, before moving into heartier dishes such as turbot with laverbread or Saddleback pork with black apple. There’s a playful edge to some of the bar snacks – the ‘Chunion’ puff, for example, is a molten cheese and onion gougère – while the drinks list balances classics with more inventive options, including a pickleback martini.

The Latimer, North Kensington
Bringing together two generations of a well-known hospitality family, The Latimer is a new neighbourhood pub on Latimer Road. Led by Jon Spiteri and Melanie Arnold alongside their children, the project draws on experience from institutions like St John and Rochelle Canteen. The menu, overseen by Lorcan Spiteri, focuses on seasonal British cooking, from confit trout and cider-braised pork belly skewers to larger plates like oxtail with mash. A separate bar menu, designed by Fin Spiteri, caters to those dropping in for drinks, while Sundays centre on generous sharing roasts.

MiKo Mei Fair, Mayfair
From restaurateur Samyukta Nair, MiKo Mei Fair introduces a new Thai dining concept within the Georgian townhouse that also houses MiMi Mei Fair. With just 50 covers, the restaurant feels intimate but considered, combining layered interiors with a menu led by Soonthorn Apaipat of Koyn Thai, another of Samyukta’s high-end ventures. Cooking centres around a robata-style grill, with dishes that explore the balance and depth of Thai flavours – from lobster choo chee to lamb massaman curry and a fire-led take on Peking duck. The drinks list follows suit, with spice-led cocktails and tropical notes that echo the kitchen.

Vesper, Exmouth Market
Chef Jackson Boxer continues his run of thoughtful openings with Vesper, arriving at Exmouth Market later this month. Following his success with Dove in Notting Hill, the new space carries a similar spirit – relaxed but refined – with interiors by designer Jermaine Gallacher that balance texture, light and a sense of ease. Set across a corner site, the restaurant moves from a casual bar at the entrance into a candlelit dining room, with a terrace for warmer evenings. The menu is expected to follow Boxer’s signature approach: ingredient-led, inventive and designed to feel accessible without losing its edge. Example dishes include croquette 'arnold bennett' with tarragon mayonnaise; raw beef and smoked pepper tostada; and cucumber, melon, almond and chilli.

Arcade, Covent Garden
Following its success at Tottenham Court Road and Battersea Power Station, Arcade is set to open its third London site this May, bringing its globally inspired food hall concept to Covent Garden. The 12,500 sq ft space will house a curated line-up of kitchens, including Manna, known for its cult smash burgers, alongside new concepts spanning South American grills, North-Indian street food and southern Thai cooking. A new addition is Studio Coffee, created with Rich Woods, which combines specialty coffee with a listening space by day before transitioning into a bar by night (its signature drink will be a chocolate orange negroni). We’re also pleased to see Luke Farrell’s excellent Plaza Khao Gaeng pop up here – expect Gai Gorlae chicken skewers glazed in red curry and coconut cream alongside seafood and curries rich with fresh turmeric.

Upstairs At Hausu, Peckham
Above its main restaurant near Peckham Rye, Upstairs at Hausu introduces a new late-night space that brings together music, cocktails and a distinctly south London energy. Created by siblings Holly and Tom Joseph-Middleton, alongside Christian Williams, the bar centres on high-fidelity sound and a rotating programme of DJs, giving it the feel of a neighbourhood venue that evolves night by night. The drinks list mirrors that approach, with cocktails that balance playful flavours and precision – think salted Iberico tomato martinis or blood orange sidecars with fig foam – alongside skin-contact wines and a concise bar menu. It’s designed to complement the excellent restaurant downstairs but is well worth a visit in its own right.

Weezie’s, Belgravia
In Eccleston Yards, Weezie’s is the latest venture from the team behind amie wine. Here, the focus is on thin-crust pizzas made with Wildfarmed flour, alongside a concise selection of small plates that keep things simple but well executed. At the helm is chef Sumant Sinai, whose background includes popular Circus Pizza at Panzer’s, and the menu reflects that experience. The space is designed to work throughout the day, either for a quick lunch or an evening drink, with cold pints and a house orange wine adding to the appeal. Named after co-founder Abbie Roden’s grandmother, the restaurant carries a personal touch that comes through in its easy, welcoming atmosphere. We love the sound of the Sobrasada pizza, a combo of tomato base, fior di latte mozzarella, Curing Rebels sobrasada, swirled charred creamed sweetcorn, hot honey drizzle, parmesan dusting and fresh parsley.

Rosina, Wandsworth
Adam Byatt’s newest restaurant Rosina will open this summer in Wandsworth. Having owned and run Clapham’s Trinity restaurant for over 20 years, Byatt now aims to bring the same sense of community and acclaim to this new Italian-inspired restaurant. Named after Byatt’s young daughter Rosie, the restaurant will include a large dining room, standalone bar, terrace and private dining room with its own terrace. The menu is inspired by Byatt’s long-time love affair with Italy and will showcase some of the best produce (and that of the UK), wines and recipes from across the country. We can’t wait to see what the menu has in store.

Oudh 1722, Borough
Oudh 1722 is the debut London restaurant from chef Aktar Islam. Best known as the chef behind Birmingham’s two Michelin-starred Opheem – one of only two Indian restaurants in the UK, and four worldwide, to hold the distinction – Islam has brought the flavours of Awadh to London, drawing on the techniques and sense of hospitality that defined the Nawabi courts of Lucknow. Alongside an à la carte menu, the restaurant offers Dawaat e Khas, a feasting-style journey through the kitchen’s signature dishes. Highlights from the launch menu include nargisi kofta (soft golden egg yolk and spiced venison), kakori kebab of finely minced lamb shoulder with chilli and rose; and dahi paneer enriched with cultured cream and fenugreek. Dum cooking – the slow, dough-sealed technique synonymous with the region – forms a key pillar of the menu, showcased best through an eye-catching mutanjan dum biryani of oxtail and aged basmati. We also can’t wait to try the whole turbot, which is slow-cooked in spiced ghee and served with brown shrimp.
