The Sloane Club

Chelsea

The Sloane Club was founded in 1922, established as a welcoming residential community for women who served in the armed forces. This spring sees the club’s Chelsea HQ reopen after undergoing a significant refurbishment, inspired by its century-long history. In collaboration with renowned interior design firm Russell Sage Studio, the renovation will transform the entire venue, with new restaurants and bars, an all-season roof terrace, spacious lounges and private event spaces. The plans also include a new fitness and wellness facility, a co-working space and the refurbishment of all 66 bedrooms and suites. Inspired by the Chelsea Mews, these bedrooms are full of comfort, character and charming details – and are available to book now.

Templeton Garden

Earl’s Court

Templeton Garden will open its doors in April. The latest addition to Miiro’s portfolio (it currently has hotels in Paris, Barcelona and Gstaad), the 156-bedroom property is found in an historic part of Earl’s Court. When it launches, the venue will be home to a café-deli, modern British restaurant, cocktail bar and state-of-the-art gym, in addition to a ‘Refresh Room’, a Miiro signature feature designed for guest use before check-in and after check-out. The space will include stylish changing rooms, showers, toiletries, charging points and smart lockers, making late flights and left luggage simple for those who want to get out and about, bag free. Many of the bedrooms will come with balconies, while others look out over the hotel’s garden or Templeton Place itself.

The Welbeck

Marylebone

Over in Marylebone, The Welbeck Hotel has opened with 164 design-led bedrooms and suites. Close to the Wallace Collection and some of the capitals best shops and restaurants, the hotel also features a mini gym and a lounge, where pastries and coffee are served first thing. Despite its luxe location, this is an affordable option for anyone wanting to book a weekend in London. We also rate its wellness offerings: the hotel has partnered with beauty app Ruuby, so guests can enjoy a range of in-room treatments, including massages, facials and beauty services during their stay. The team has also collaborated with historic London pharmacy John Bell & Croyden, so those staying at the hotel can access top-rated health and wellness products.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

One Club Row

Shoreditch

One Club Row is the new restaurant from chef Patrick Powell, James Dye and Benjy Leibowitz. Opening at the end of the month, it will sit above the trio’s recently opened pub, The Knave of Clubs. If The Knave is the team’s homage to the best of British pub culture, One Club Row is its tribute to the best of New York hospitality. Drawing on the decade Benjy spent working in New York, One Club Row will be a restaurant for long lunches, late dinners, and – according to the team – “dining at the bar, people watching, and one too many martinis”. Taking cues from both the bistros and brasseries of Paris and New York’s iconic taverns, the menu will serve the likes of pickled jalapeno gougères; lobster and country ham croquettes; fresh tuna crudo with tomato, tonnato sauce and pickled celery; and whole lobster tagliatelle for the table to share. At the bar, classic cocktails and champagne will sit alongside a selection of vermouths to start with and amaros to finish.

22 Bishopsgate

City

Gordon Ramsay has opened five new spaces in London’s tallest building, which overlooks Tower Bridge, The Shard and St Paul’s Cathedral. The top three floors of 22 Bishopsgate are now home to three restaurants, a bar and a Gordon Ramsay X Hexclad Academy cookery school. At level 60, Lucky Cat is now the capital’s highest restaurant, offering an Asian-inspired menu with 360° views of the city. On the floor above, there’s the Lucky Cat bar – the highest bar in Europe – which has a terrace with a retractable roof, which will come into its own in the summer. Level 60 also features a 12-seat chef’s table ‘Restaurant Gordon Ramsay – High’. This is a spin-off of Ramsay’s flagship Chelsea restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary – and its 22nd year maintaining three Michelin stars – this year. Finally, on level 59, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar will serve its signature dishes, cocktails and a new afternoon tea experience.

Gallery At The Savoy

West End

Known as ‘the king of chefs and the chef of kings’, Auguste Escoffier was the man who launched The Savoy’s kitchen when it opened 136 years ago. Now, the Gallery restaurant has reopened with a striking new look and an all-day dining menu that nods to the culinary pioneer. We suggest kicking things off with the sole, Bacchus grape and hispi cabbage tacos, which is inspired by Escoffier’s famed ‘sole veronique’, before ordering the smoked Scottish salmon sourdough pizza with avocado and caviar. And, of course, you can’t head to the Savoy without ordering the classic Arnold Bennett omelette, a Savoy staple which was first created at the hotel for its novelist namesake in 1929. Open until late, Gallery’s bar is the perfect place for an after-dinner cocktail. Highlights include a British Negroni, combining Somerset brandy, Asterly Brothers’ sweet vermouth and bitters, and a New Fashioned, a rich concoction of Fielden Rye whisky, discard banana and PX. The space is so atmospheric, we suggest making a night of it and ordering its selection of Petrossian caviar, served with organic Burford eggs, chives, sour cream and blinis.

The Lavery

South Kensington

On 25th March, The Lavery will open on South Kensington’s Cromwell Place. A restaurant, café and elegant event space, The Lavery takes its name and inspiration from its history as the former home and studio of Sir John Lavery, the renowned Anglo-Irish painter. The venue will be brought to life by a collective of seasoned hospitality veterans. The kitchen is led by Yohei Furuhashi, whose career includes nine years at The River Café, as well as stints at Petersham Nurseries and Toklas. Front of House is overseen by Alcides Gauto, previously of Toklas, Llewelyn’s and Rochelle Canteen. And the vision behind the project is driven by Martin Cohen, whose career spans venues like L’Escargot, New York’s Odeon and the launch of Rochelle Canteen. Yohei’s menu will highlight Mediterranean seasonality, while drawing inspiration and produce from Scotland’s Balcaskie Estate. Example dishes from the opening menu include pappardelle with slow-cooked rabbit, tomato, bay, green olive and chilli; gnocchi di patate with fresh peas, hen of the woods and ricotta salata; and Scottish scallops with alubia beans, radicchio, marjoram, caper and anchovy.

Erev At Miznon

Notting Hill

This month, Miznon Notting Hill has transformed. After a two-week renovation, the Elgin Crescent restaurant has reopened with a fresh and elevated look and feel. Alongside the pita-focused dishes that Miznon has become loved for, the restaurant has launched Erev – a dinner-only dining experience inspired by the post-sunset streets of the Mediterranean. Erev will be available exclusively at Miznon Notting Hill, served evenings only from Tuesday to Saturday. Dishes are grouped into distinctive categories – ‘From the Earth’ ‘From the Sea’ and ‘From the Land’ – with highlights including Turkish street taco lamb with chilli and pepper; salt-baked baby beetroots with sour cream; shrimp tortellini; and prime fillet with peppercorn sauce and ‘41 layers of potato’.

Mr Porter

Mayfair

Launching at 22 Park Lane, Amsterdam mega restaurant Mr Porter aims to bring a feminine take on a traditional steakhouse to London’s restaurant scene. With elegant interiors and plush seating, the space moves away from the dark, heavy tones traditionally associated with steakhouses. The menu reflects this balance, with lighter dishes complementing the boldness of prime steaks. Highlights include roast beef carpaccio; avocado carpaccio with beluga caviar; and prawn salad with grilled corn, avocado and dried chilli sauce; alongside signature bone-in fillets, chateaubriands and tomahawks. The 360° bar, designed to encourage guests to interact while enjoying cutting-edge cocktails, serves up the likes of Love Potion, a mix of Mastiha liqueur and rum under a cotton candy cloud, topped with raspberry and rose foam; and French Touch, vodka, citrus and apricot liqueurs with peach and champagne.
