The New Party Restaurant To Know
THE STORY
Jul’s was first born in Ibiza in 2018, founded by chef Christos Fotos, alongside Jem Akyuz and his son Ilhan. What started as a relaxed Mediterranean restaurant quickly evolved into a cult favourite, known for its unfussy yet refined cooking, magnetic atmosphere and a crowd that comes as much for the energy as the food.
Following the success of its original outpost, Jul’s expanded to other international hotspots, building a reputation for spaces that blur the line between restaurant, bar and late-night destination. London has long been on the brand’s radar – and now, the West End finally gets its own slice of Jul’s magic.
THE FOOD
At Jul’s, the Mediterranean influence is unmistakable – but it’s interpreted with a modern, seasonal sophistication that feels perfectly at home in the capital. The menu champions locally sourced ingredients, as well as open-fire cooking and charcoal-grilling techniques. Whether you’re starting with a caviar-topped bucatini or lingering over grilled wagyu, the menu strikes a pleasing balance between familiar Mediterranean flavours and inventive touches.
The Standouts
- Octopus xidato prespa bean purée and pepper salsa.
- Bluefin tuna tartare with blood orange ponzu and raspberry and beetroot sorbet.
- Slow-cooked lamb flatbread, red onion jam, yoghurt and gruyère.
- Silver cod corn velouté, fennel salad and chilli glaze.
- Lobster risotto with butternut squash, truffle and espresso butter.
THE DRINKS
Wine is treated as an integral part of the experience at Jul’s, with a selection drawn from a broad spectrum of traditional, natural and biodynamic producers to complement the menu’s breadth. All of which are housed in the 6.5-metre glass wine wall running the height of the
ground floor.
But the real late-night draw is No. 11, the bar tucked beneath the restaurant. Led by bar directors Vasilis Sgouromallis and Dimitris Karapanos, this subterranean space functions as a cocktail laboratory, where distillation, fermentation and Mediterranean-inspired techniques give rise to inventive serves that echo the kitchen’s flavour profile – from aperitifs infused with sun-kissed citrus to richer concoctions that pair beautifully with the later hours.
THE SETTING
Jul’s London is conceived as more than just a place to eat. Designed by ArcSet, the space strikes a careful balance between structure and warmth, echoing Jul’s philosophy of nature and seasonality. Marble and mosaic floors are offset by scorched wood, clay plaster and solid stone, with materials chosen as much for their texture as their ability to age beautifully. Everything is bespoke, with subtle nods to Byzantine and Roman influences woven through colour and material rather than overt decoration. Lighting is deliberately restrained, letting craftsmanship and texture take centre stage. With dramatic interiors that play with light and shadow, a sweeping wine wall as a backdrop and a lively buzz from brunch through to late night, it’s built for celebrations and those who plan to stay well past dessert.
WHY BOOK
A Mediterranean original that’s travelled from the Balearic coast to the Athenian capital, Jul’s is now planting roots in one of the world’s most competitive dining cities. With its thoughtful cooking, standout drinks programme and celebratory atmosphere, it’s an opening you won’t want to miss in 2026.
Jul’s London opens 18th March at 11 Waterloo Place, St James’s, London. Reservations are now live.
