Created in partnership with THANOS HOTEL
A NEW CHAPTER FROM MARCH 2026
From March 2026, Anassa will begin an exciting new chapter following a €10 million refurbishment, with the acclaimed design studio Yabu Pushelberg conceiving the look of the new rooms. The famous main terrace will be reimagined, alongside enhancements to Junior Suites, higher accommodation categories, and private villas. The focus is on refinement, comfort, and longevity – a thoughtful evolution that elevates the guest experience while preserving the character loyal visitors know and love.
THE LOCATION
Perched on the edge of west Cyprus’ dramatic Akamas Peninsula, Anassa sits in a truly breathtaking spot. The surrounding area is famed for its secluded beaches, crystal-clear waters and gardens bursting with bougainvillaea and orchids. Explore mile-long valleys, gorges and sandy bays teeming with wildlife, as well as coastal nature trails and the shallow cave pools near Paphos.
Set on a private tip of the island, the hotel offers total serenity without sacrificing access to charming fishing villages and coastal towns. Bordered by a protected nature reserve and overlooking the Mediterranean, Anassa feels spacious and secluded, with whitewashed, village-style buildings cascading towards the sea amid olive trees and towering cypress trees.
With guaranteed sunshine from March to October, temperatures rise from a mild 20°C in spring to a sizzling summer peak, giving you the perfect backdrop for an Easter escape or a late-season retreat.
THE LOOK & FEEL
Inspired by a traditional Cypriot village, Anassa’s design is timeless rather than trend-driven. Interiors are light, elegant and airy, with natural textures, soft Mediterranean tones and effortless flow. From sun-drenched terraces to sea-facing suites, every detail feels intuitive and comfortable – think luxury that’s understated, not showy.
One of the most iconic hotels in Cyprus – and the Med – Anassa has been a favourite among those in the know for more than 25 years. Its 166 rooms, suites and residences, originally designed by James Northcutt and refreshed by Parisian designer Joelle Pleot, echo a traditional village layout. Accommodation ranges from spacious garden-view rooms to suites with private balconies, all featuring whitewashed walls, minimalist accents and pops of blue to mirror the sea. Four private villas with infinity pools cater to families, friends or couples seeking total seclusion.
Guests can unwind in the split-level freshwater pool – which flows into a larger infinity pool with uninterrupted sea views – stroll through immaculately landscaped gardens or head down to the beach to swim in the crystal-clear waters.
DINING
At Anassa, food mirrors the resort’s philosophy: simple and ingredient-led. From breakfast buffets to sunset dinners, every dish celebrates locally sourced, seasonal produce, crafted with creativity and care. Executive chef David Goodridge leads a team that makes artisanal cheeses, breads, pastries, jams and sauces entirely on-site, ensuring every meal is fresh, flavourful, and memorable. Menus cater to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free diets, while award-winning restaurants regularly earn top distinctions at the Toques d’Or (Golden Caps) Awards.
Amphora: Easy-breezy seaside dining
Overlooking the sea, Amphora is perfect for al fresco dinners or long unhurried evenings. By day, enjoy buffet breakfasts featuring Anassa-made specialities and locally sourced ingredients. As part of the resort’s next phase, Amphora will introduce a new grill-led dining concept celebrating premium meats, fresh Mediterranean seafood and outstanding produce. The evening ‘Grill at Amphora’ menu focuses on expertly grilled cuts from Japan and the USA, free-range poultry, locally sourced pork and line-caught Mediterranean and Atlantic seafood, all served in a casual-chic, open-air setting.
Basiliko: Candlelit Asian-Med fusion
For romantic dining, Basiliko has a sunken open-air terrace bathed in soft candlelight, complete with whitewashed walls and low vaulted ceilings. Its Asian-Mediterranean fusion cuisine has earned it a Top Notch 2025 award in Pan-Asian Cuisine at the Toques d’Or.
Helios: Fine dining with sea views
Set beneath an olive-studded terrace with panoramic views, Helios blends French-Mediterranean fine dining with the romance of the Cyprus coastline. Here, seasonal menus are paired with live classical music on piano or harp. Winner of the 2025 Golden Cap in Contemporary Cuisine, Helios is one of Anassa’s signature gourmet destinations.
THE THALASSA SPA
Wellbeing has long been central to the Anassa experience, and the Thalassa Spa remains one of its defining features. Inspired by a Roman-style health retreat, the spa has won numerous awards for its impressive facilities and extensive range of therapies, from one-off treatments to immersive ten-day detox programmes. Offering a holistic approach that combines fitness, therapeutic treatments and personalised restorative programmes, the spa is designed for genuine renewal. Notably, Anassa is the first hotel spa in the world to partner with Augustinus Bader, alongside Ayurvedic wellness specialists Subtle Energies – bringing together cutting-edge skincare science and time-honoured healing traditions in one serene setting.

Tennis and padel enthusiasts can book lessons on flood-lit courts at any time.
