What To Do This Weekend 03.10.20

Wondering how to spend this Saturday and Sunday? Here’s our What To Do This Weekend roundup…

Restaurant Kits is partnering up with Hoste founder Laura Jackson to launch the latter’s ‘Make A Meal Of It’ Hoste Boxes. Launching this Saturday, the ‘Friendsgiving’ boxes will be available for nationwide delivery and take their inspiration from her #makeamealofit movement on Instagram. Going forward, the plan is that Hoste will release four boxes a year via Restaurant Kits. Each box consists of an autumnal beef or a wild mushroom and onion bourguignon dinner for two, served with mashed potatoes, heritage carrots with hazelnut butter and finished with a sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and clotted cream. A bottle of craft cordial from Saft Drinks, with four exclusive cocktail recipes designed to pair with the meal, can also be found inside. Finally, the kit also includes two Wax Atelier x Hoste natural wax celebration candles, two linen napkins, two menu cards, a box of matches and a ‘Friendsgiving’ playlist.

Crazy golf venue Swingers has re-opened its doors with a new Covid-secure experience. To provide guests with the best and the safest experience possible, its two sites now have a raft of measures in place to ensure they meet all of the latest guidelines, including a new app that combines food and drink ordering capability with an online scorecard and a track-and-trace form. The team has also used the time spent in lockdown to implement some major course improvements across both of its venues, with all four courses revamped with a number of moving installations including clocktowers, waterwheels, carousels and Ferris wheels. Each moving part is an obstacle for crazy golfers to get past, testing their putting skills and timing to the millisecond. In recognition of the work done by keyworkers throughout the pandemic, Swingers will also be offering all NHS workers a complimentary cocktail during the first four weeks of opening.
