kikki.K founder Kristina Karlsson has previously struggled to get into a good sleep routine. Here, she offers her top three tips for embracing the importance of sleep and of fuelling your energy levels…

1. Get Your Thoughts Out On Paper

If you’re someone whose mind runs a mile a minute late at night, try keeping a journal by the side of your bed so you can write down all the random ideas and thoughts that pop into your head while you’re trying to sleep. Getting them out on paper means you can clear your mind, safe in the knowledge that everything is captured, and you can check back in tomorrow. kikki.K’s new Can’t Sleep Notepad even has glow-in-the-dark ink so you can use it in the middle of the night.

2. Move Your Body

Research shows regular exercise can help you sleep better, as well as help you stay more alert and focused during the day. If you’re having trouble sleeping, try to incorporate a regular morning yoga routine and walk as often as possible. It might also help to steer clear of exercising at night, as the rush of endorphins can make it harder to wind down.

3. Embrace Routine

When you’re mindful of your night-time routine, it’s so much easier to clear your mind. Doing things like having a screen cut-off time, taking a warm bath, drinking herbal tea and writing a journal can really help you relax. kikki.K’s new Sleep Journal is perfect for helping you embrace a mindful routine. There’s space to record your sleep habits and write down dreams, plus it’s full of tips and activities to help you understand how to improve the quality of your sleep.
