A Cool Jewellery Designer Talks Fashion, Beauty, Food & Interiors

Designer Lisa Olsson is the creative force behind jewellery brand Nootka, so she naturally has excellent taste – and not just in accessories. From fashion through to beauty, food, interiors, here’s everything she’s loving right now…

The Party Piece

Glitter and metallics are catching my eye more than ever but the pieces that tend to make it into my wardrobe are usually classic and tailored. I’ve been coveting a Wardrobe NYC x Rosie Huntington-Whitley blazer. It's one of those pieces that only needs some statement earrings and a sleek bun. Elsewhere, my brand Nootka and House Of Dagmar collaborated on a limited edit and our silky blazer – which has our jewellery pieces integrated into them – is one of my favourites.

The Autumn Look

My uniform right now is a By Malene Birger x Moda Operandi oversized faux fur jacket. I wear it with loose denim and trainers for that kind of effortless look that also keeps me warm and cosy.

The Colour Trend

While I can be shy about colour, I’m not afraid to wear a statement coat. I recently saw a great moss-green, double-breasted coat at Loewe which I’m really keen to get my hands on.

The Shoe

I’m a boots girl through and through – and it helps that my best friend owns an incredible shoe brand called Sania D’mina. I have these high-shaft leather boots in a few colours – although black is definitely my most worn. Sleek and feminine, pair them with loose denim for contrast.

The Denim

I like classic blue denim best. I have a straight-leg pair of jeans from House of Dagmar that I wear at least once a week. I’ve also had my vintage Levi’s for around eight years, but I still wear them on repeat. Finally, as much as I love loose denim, a pair of high-waisted fitted jeans are a date night go-to with heels and a simple top.

The Bag

I recently invested in a large Bottega Hop bag in dark brown. I need an everyday bag that fits everything – so this is perfect. Come evening, I tend to go for slouchier styles. One of my favourites is this suede piece from Flattered. I like wearing it with a sleek sexy dress for a bit of a interest.

The Brand

Amsterdam based Róhe is nailing wardrobe staples this season – which is probably why the brand is taking up more space in my wardrobe. I also love the brand Leoni, which was founded by a Swedish designer. It makes stunning button embellished tops and dresses.

The Jewellery

As a jewellery designer, I have the privilege of designing what I think is missing in my own collection. A lot of what I made at the start with Nootka is what I still wear today. It still feels relevant even though my wardrobe has evolved. Right now, I’m slightly more into statement pieces like our ornament necklace.

The Wildcard

I can’t get the Gucci SS25 number 48 runway look out of my mind. The construction and delicate details are insane – I love the modern uniform vibe. I imagine myself wearing it during a winter getaway with a matching sunset for a backdrop.

The Beauty Essential

I don't wear a lot of burgundy clothes but I love it in my beauty look – especially on my nails and eyes. The Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Eye Pencil in ‘Orchid’ is really easy to use and it’s also pretty subtle.

The Skincare Hero

Scandinavian skincare brand Verso is a favourite. I’m loving this firming body oil for a natural glow. I apply it to my neckline and on my shoulders before a night out. I'm also really into Augustinus Bader and have been loyal to the brand ever since it launched. I used to be someone who had a ten-step routine but now Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream and Face Oil are all I need.

The Treatment

I love a PRX treatment – which is a kind of non-invasive product-based facial here in Sweden. If I have something special coming up, it's my route to instant glow.

The A/W Scent

I love sampling fragrances – but I don't always love them on myself. That was until I discovered Escentric Molecules Molecule 01. Containing only one ingredient – Iso E Super – it’s different on everyone. I always get compliments when I wear it.

The Homeware

I’ll start renovating my house at the start of next year, but I’m already sourcing and moodboarding different pieces. Brands on my radar include The OblistCollection Apart – there’s a lovely walnut table I’d love to get from there – and Galerie Storm. This  brand was started by two friends of mine, Carolina Storm and Mattias Storm, and they recently opened a physical gallery space in Stockholm. You can really tell how much effort they put into sourcing these items.

The Getaway

We just visited a beautiful Hyssna Forest Resort. The attention to detail is amazing – it’s the perfect place to switch off. There was the option to have food delivered to your cabin or you could have ingredient bundles sent to cook yourself – which we really enjoyed.

The Wellness Escape

Another place I love to switch off is at my partner’s family’s place in Archepellagio. We went last winter and arrived to find the electricity and water had been shut off. Surprisingly, it ended up becoming one of our best trips as we could fully reset. As long as there’s a cold swim and a hot sauna, I’m happy.

The Book

Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez is one of those books everyone should read. Exploring the idea that the foundations of our society – particularly when it comes to data – are all built by men, it’s incredibly thought-provoking.

The Tablescaping Essential

My hosting hack involves using a bed valance as a tablecloth. I can rarely find table linens that are big enough – so this has been a great alternative. I also love symmetry in general but when it comes to coffee cups, I like to mix things up. I find them all over the place, from Zara Home to my travels. I like the idea of building a varied collection.

The Foodie Spots

For a long lunch with friends, I love Villa Dagmar. I usually order gambas which are cooked with tonnes of garlic and served with bread. For date night I like Den Gamle Och Havet – I've ordered countless vongle there, plus plenty of great wine.
