Stylish Girls To Have On Your Radar: Trishna Goklani

Stylish Girls To Have On Your Radar: Trishna Goklani

At SheerLuxe, we make it our business to showcase some of the coolest, most stylish girls out there, especially those who might not be on your radar – yet. Trishna Goklani is a social media consultant and content creator, whose simple aesthetic and seriously enviable wardrobe has made her a firm favourite. Here, we quiz her on all things fashion, as well as getting a sneak peek at some of her best party season looks.

What was your favourite outfit from the shoot?

I loved the & Other Stories knit top and white trousers look because it was such an accurate representation of my style. I love being comfortable and casual, but also enjoy a look that feels put together and chic – this is the perfect blend of both.

What have you been buying this season?

Like many people, most of my purchases have been loungewear-related. I didn't actually own a pair of joggers before this year, but nowadays, all I look for is comfy and luxe casual pieces. I do, however, love jewellery and it is part of my daily look, regardless of what I wear. Renting clothes has been something I've been doing more, too, as there are so many platforms that have an amazing selection of pieces. In fact, the Jacquemus cardigan I wore for the shoot is rented from ByRotation – I love exploring different brands and styles this way.

How would you describe your style?

My style is always evolving depending on how I feel, but it is based on the principle of quality over quantity. As a teen, I was obsessed with second-hand shopping and would go thrifting every weekend. Even so, the way I consumed fashion was borderline excessive. Over the years I’ve stopped looking for new things to buy and instead look for new ways to dress up the pieces I already own. I gravitate towards everyday pieces that are versatile enough to be worn in multiple ways and for all sorts of occasions.

What's your number one style rule?

Style is so personal to everyone, but wear what makes you feel good and don't overthink it.

What would you never wear?

Skinny Jeans. I'm quite petite and I don't like the way skinnies cling to my body. Typically, I opt for more fluid trousers or flared and straight-leg denim. They make me feel good about my body.

You have an amazing jewellery collection, tell us more about that…

Jewellery has been something I’ve worn from a young age. I used to wear quite loud and colourful jewellery but my style has evolved. Nowadays my taste is more pared back – sometimes a pair of hoops is all you need during Zoom call to feel more elevated. Some of my favourite brands are DaphinePilgrim JewelleryDaisy Jewellery. Lately, I’ve been drawn towards personalised jewellery – I discovered an incredible designer called Lucy Parker Jewellery who I’ve worked with to create a piece that includes a meaningful quote, which I can't wait to see.

Do you have a favourite brand for a splurge?

Things I’d splurge on include jewellery, good shoes, denim, knits and coats. If I had to think of one off the top of my head it would be either Ganni for accessories or Daphine for Jewellery. I have a signet ring from Daphine that I wear almost daily and besides a few scratches from everyday wear and tear, it still looks so good. When it comes to knits and coats, I'm particular about the material – it needs to keep me warm, so I opt for pieces with real wool in them.

And your favourite high-street brands?

& Other Stories, Arket and Cos. They have great pieces that always come in the best range of colours. Everything I have from these brands looks really luxe, even if it’s from a few seasons ago. Timelessness is the key to a great wardrobe.

Any favourite under-the-radar brands?

Damson Madder is a cool brand that champions sustainability. They use organic cotton and recycled yarn in their designs, and everything comes with a tag showing you exactly what the pieces are made of.

What’s been your best fashion purchase of 2020?

Loungewear of course! Oh, and these shearling slippers from Jigsaw.

What one item have you lived in this season?

I have a pair from Levi's Ribcage jeans I've worn to death. They're the best pair of jeans I've ever owned. I have plenty of jeans from Levi’s, but these have to be my favourites.

Who are your favourite people to follow on Instagram?

I draw inspiration from lots of different accounts, but my favourites are @NYCBambi@LindseyHolland_@Monikh and @AlexisForeman.

And who is your number one style icon?

The Olsen twins, without a doubt. I just love how distinctive their style is and that ‘casual but put together’ look really resonates with me. Whether they're in a baggy dress or an impeccable suit, they always look so chic – they’re the definition of effortless.
