11 Tasty Non-Alcoholic Cocktails To Try This Month

Whether you’re someone who doesn’t drink alcohol or you’re giving Sober October a go, no or low-alcohol cocktails don’t have to be dull. To prove it, a selection of bartenders and healthier booze brands share the alternative recipes that won’t compromise on taste.

Grove Margarita: Seedlip

Ingredients
60ml of Seedlip Grove 42
1 tbsp of agave syrup
15ml of fresh lime juice
Salt rim and lime wheel, to garnish
Method
Step 1

Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice.

Step 2

Shake and strain over ice.

Step 3

Garnish with a lime wheel and half-rim of salt.

Espresso MartiNo

60ml of Seedlip Spice 94
60ml of Sandows Cold Brew Concentrate
15ml of sugar syrup
3 coffee beans, to garnish
Method
Step 1

Add the wet ingredients to a shaker.

Step 2

Add ice and shake.

Step 3

Double strain into a coupe glass and top with the coffee beans.

Method
Step 1

To make the syrup, combine equal parts warm water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Let it cool.

Step 2

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice.

Step 3

Shake and strain into a coupe glass.

Step 4

Garnish with an orange peel.

Honey Fizz

Step 1

Build everything in a flute, and top with the soda water to add bubbles.

30ml of cherryade (as per step 1)
20ml of grape juice/apple juice/non-alcoholic sweet wine
20ml of grenadine
Method
Step 1

Place 100g of pitted cherries into a bottle of your favourite lemonade to infuse for 24 hours prior to mixing.

Step 2

When you're ready to make your drink, stir the cherryade over ice.

Step 3

Pour all the ingredients into an iced glass and garnish with a slice of fresh orange and a cherry.

Cherry Jasmin

30ml of tonic water
20ml of triple sec
20ml of lemon juice
10ml of grenadine
5ml of sugar syrup
5 fresh cherries (pitted)

Step 1

Pour each measured ingredient into a cocktail shaker with ice.

Shake all ingredients for 20-30 seconds.

Step 3

Pour cocktail through a fine strainer into a coupette and serve.

Step 1

Place 100g of pitted cherries into a bottle of your favourite lemonade to infuse for 24 hours prior to mixing.

Step 2

Pour ingredients into an iced long glass and garnish with a cherry.

Cucumber Spritz: HotBox London

50ml of Lyre's Non-alcoholic Dry London Gin
20ml of mint syrup
15ml of lemon
5ml of elderflower cordial
6 mint leaves
Soda, to top
For the cucumber gin:
1 small cucumber, diced
1 bottle of Lyre’s gin
For the mint syrup:
2 cups of white sugar
2 cups of water
10 to 15 springs of mint, just the leaves
Method
Step 1

Put the cucumber and bottle of Lyre’s into a container and leave for 48 hours.

Step 2

Sieve out the cucumber pieces and pour the infused gin back into the bottle.

Step 3

To make the syrup, combine all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to the boil and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and fine strain out.

Step 4

Shake all ingredients, pour into a wine glass with cubed ice and stir.

Step 5

Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and cucumber peel.

Alcohol-Free Watermelon & Basil Mojito: Maldon Salt

750g of watermelon
10g of fresh basil
2 tbsp of sugar syrup
1 pinch of Maldon salt
1 lime, juiced (plus lime slices for garnish)

Step 1

In a blender, add the watermelon and blitz until smooth – then pass this through a sieve to remove any pips.

Step 2

In two tall highball glasses start with a handful of basil leaves in each, 1 tbsp of sugar syrup and a pinch of Maldon salt, then muddle these together using a muddler (or similar) to break down the basil leaves and infuse the flavours.

Step 3

Next add lime juice, fill the glass with ice and finally top up with the strained watermelon juice. Mix together and then garnish with a small triangle of watermelon, a slice of lime and some basil leaves.

15ml of aqua faba (or egg white)

Step 1

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake hard with ice.

Step 2

Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist or edible flowers.
