6.30am

My kids wake me up between 6.30am-7am – there is no alarm needed. Our house is quite a ‘smart’ house, so one of the first things I do is tell Alexa to switch on the lights and the radio from our Amazon Echo Dot. I'm a radio geek; I love listening to Radio 5 Live in the morning as it's great for tapping into the agenda of the day. It’s also the station I present on, so it’s great to hear other shows.

8.30am

It's a very busy household. My daughter is five and my son is eight, so mornings are about getting them ready and out the door by 8.30am latest. Their school is only a five-minute walk down the road from where we live, so when I am not doing morning radio, I’m able to take them. When I get back, I will check my emails and reply to anything urgent. I don’t have breakfast as I fast until 1pm; if I feel like I need anything, it will be a banana before I work out.

9am

I have a home gym and start my session at 9am. I prefer to work out after I’ve taken the kids to school because there’s pressure to get things done. I aim to work out four to five times a week for at least an hour. Afterwards, I go straight in the shower.

Because I have to wear so much make-up for work, I am religious with my skincare routine. I use the Eve Lom cleanser as it’s so creamy and leaves my face feeling super clean. The Ordinary’s niacinamide serum is something I use every other day, and I like the Lacto-10 Moisture Cream Lactic Acid to hydrate my skin. For the last six years, I have been using nearly all the products from R&R Luxury on myself and my kids. The shea butter oil and whipped shea butter are insane.

11am

By this point, I’m dressed and ready to attack the day. I would describe my day-to-day style as minimalistic. The clothes I have in my wardrobe are all very neutral colours, and easy to mix and match, so it's like a uniform. I recently bought lots of basic Versace t-shirts and vests that I can pair with COS trousers. I love Italian designers, so I have a lot of Prada in my wardrobe, especially outerwear and footwear. I need my outfits to be quick, with zero drama. It's the opposite of what I have to do on telly, where I can express my love for fashion.

My schedule is fast moving, so on a presenting day I would have actually left the house at 3.45am, and on a Martin Lewis Money Show day I get picked up at 12pm to head to the studio. The journey can take up to an hour and a half from my house in East London due to traffic. While I’m in the car, I will catch up on everything from sports to fashion to opinion pieces. The Athletic is a great sports app, Vogue.com is where I get my fashion news, and I also love Black Ballad, a website specifically for Black women telling stories that matter to me.

1pm

I get to the studio and break my fast. My dressing room is full of snacks, Marks & Spencer does these insane pitta chips that I'm obsessed with. I will also have sushi from Itsu or a protein-packed salad from The Good Prep. In the afternoon, I like a banana or jelly beans to keep me going. After a meeting with the production team, I will retrieve my outfit that’s been prepped by my stylist, and then sit in the big director’s chair to have my make-up done by Simi Ola. We will either have some daytime TV on in the background, like Loose Women, or listen to some chilled afrobeats by Tems, Davido or Tyla.

4pm

Rehearsals start for the live show. When I retired from sport, I didn't think I'd find anything remotely close to the feeling of jumping straight out of the blocks for a race. But live telly actually is the same kind of vibe. You have a producer counting down in your ear, ready to go live. It's like the starter telling you to get to your marks. I thrive in the chaos, so live telly is definitely my bag. The hardest part of my job is having to turn down amazing opportunities. I had a chance to interview Jude Bellingham in Madrid a few weeks ago, but they called me at such short notice and my life is not set up like that. I am a mother and wife before anything else.

9pm

I go to social events about three times a month; I am very much a homebody. Once the show is done, I head straight home. The first thing I do when I get there is take off my make-up with Halo face pads and put on a face mask from The Organic Pharmacy. I’ll then chill on the sofa with my husband with a cup of chamomile tea.  At the moment we are watching the sports documentary Sprint on Netflix and have just finished Supacell which we loved. When I am heading out, I love a good blazer like the structured Mugler one I have, or dresses from Mara Hoffman, LaQuan Smith or Christopher John Rodgers

11pm

I like to wind down for bed either by listening to the radio or reading a few pages of my current book – right now, that’s 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think by Brianna Wiest. It’s a phone-free zone at this point. On my bedside table I have a diffuser by Neom, with the Perfect Night's Sleep Essential Oil Blend. I also use the brand’s magnesium body butter. I aim to get at least seven hours sleep every night.
