Bang Bang Prawn & Garlic Noodles

Bang Bang Prawn & Garlic Noodles

Does it get any better than Asian noodles – especially when you need a quick mid-week meal on the table in under half an hour? This recipe uses Wing Yip's iconic sesame and soy sauces to generate that famous bang bang flavour in a flash.
Total Time
25 Minutes
800g of thin Chinese noodles, such as Chef’s Choice Chinese Noodles
2 tbsp of vegetable oil
2 large onions, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped
1 large red chilli, thinly sliced
4 tbsp of crispy chilli oil
500g of raw king prawns, defrosted if frozen
100g of beansprouts
6 tbsp of Wing Yip Light Soy Sauce
1 tsp of Wing Yip Sesame Oil
1 tsp of white sesame seeds
1 tsp of black sesame seeds
1 tbsp of coriander, roughly chopped
Step 1

Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions or until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop them from cooking.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a wok over a medium-high heat and fry the onion, garlic and fresh chilli for 1-2 minutes. Add the chilli oil and the prawns and stir fry for a further 1-2 minutes, turning the prawns. Once the prawns have started to turn pink, add the beansprouts and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Add the noodles and the soy sauce then continue to stir-fry until everything is hot and the prawns are cooked through.

Step 4

Turn off the heat and drizzle over the sesame oil.

Step 5

To serve sprinkle over the sesame seeds and coriander.
