A Day In The Life Of A Model, Businesswoman & Mum

You might already know Jada Sezer as a model but behind the scenes she’s also balancing multiple businesses with an ever-growing social media presence – and raising twins. Plus, she’s a powerful advocate for body confidence and emotional wellbeing. Here she talks us through a typical day in her life…

7am

I wake up naturally when I start to hear my twins stirring. I’m really sensitive to sound and light, so I sleep with my eye mask on and as soon as I hear them, I am up. They are happy to entertain themselves while I slowly start the day in silence. The first thing I do is mentally visualise my goals for the day. I then jump into the shower – because I’m a mum of two, my morning routine is very stripped back. Necessaire’s The Body Wash in Eucalyptus is my favourite shower gel. I have quite dry skin, so on my face I use the Dermalogica cleansing gel. Once I am out of the shower, I am into my Soho Home dressing gown and heading to my dressing room, which is also where I create a lot of content.

7.45am

I photograph all my outfits. If there's a look I love, I'm not scared to re-wear and restyle it. I'll go through an album on my phone or iPad to work out what I feel like wearing. I love DISSH’s high-quality pieces and Marina Rinaldi is a brand I also love as it’s tailored towards curvier women. At the moment, Marks & Spencer’s collections are so on point. Underwear is also a very important part of getting ready for me. It’s so important that I have the correct bra or shapewear on. I really rate Elomi and Fantasie bras. I wear a lot of stacking jewellery from Pandora too; I’m obsessed with the organically shaped rings. As a mum, I’ve also perfected the art of getting ready in 30 minutes. My biggest hack is tonal dressing.

8.15am

I have a 10-minute make-up routine. I use Hourglass foundation, Giorgio Armani bronzer, which I'll also use as an eyeshadow for ease. I team that with my YSL mascara. After I’m ready, I head downstairs where my partner and I feed the twins and read them a story before getting them off to nursery.

9am

My 15-minute walk home from nursery is when I de-stress. I grab an oat matcha from Blank Street Coffee and go straight into work mode once I’m back. I set up my laptop either in the kitchen or our little work area  – I like my space to be really minimal, with lots of neutral colours. I’m very affected by my environment, so I work in silence. For much of the morning, I will be prepping for guests on my podcast CEO Mum.

11am

I like to intermittent fast, so the first time I eat is at 11am. I have scrambled eggs, avocado and toast. I take my collagen with a glass of water, as well as vitamin D and NAD+ from Artah. It’s then straight back to work.

1.30pm

I like to switch things up and go for a walk at lunchtime. I have an Apple Watch and try to hit at least 10,000 steps a day. My favourite food is Japanese. I love Sticks'n'Sushi but that's not an everyday thing. I’ll grab something from Joe & The Juice if I’m on the go. My local area in Queen’s Park – it has some great lunch spots; Bob's Café has a great family vibe.

3pm

This is when podcast recordings for CEO Mum begin. They take around an hour and a half each, so I have to decompress afterwards, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. I have a little scroll on Instagram. I have just started following Susie Wolff, who has a great story and I love anything Emma Grede puts out. After that, I will email and call my investors, my business partners and backend developers for my app, Mother. I am in the early stages of developing a family AI assistant that can help optimise and automate different tasks. The idea came from the fact that everyone's so overwhelmed – women are working more, men are working more – so this will hopefully help shoulder some of the burden. I want to help mums reclaim their time. If I want a snack, I will make myself a Bulk chocolate protein shake or have some mixed nuts from Whole Foods.

5pm

I stop working around this time to go and collect my children. While I start prepping dinner, I listen to some of my favourite podcasts: Your Daily LexHard Fork and Working Hard with Grace Beverley to name a few. I am a homebody, so evenings are usually about getting the twins bathed and ready for bed. When I have brand events in the evening, my go-to outfit is a slip dress with my Manolo Blahnik heels. I love the brand Miracle Suit – its dresses incorporate shapewear so they’re especially flattering. When I’m at home, I will squeeze in an evening workout. We have a small home gym with a treadmill and weights, and lululemon does the best sports bras. I am also obsessed with anything from Alo

8pm

By this point, I love to chill out on the sofa in my PJs. We are currently watching The Last Of Us and recently finished Paradise. Our favourite show ever is This Is Us. I might go back and do a bit more work on my laptop with my Shark LED light mask on.

10pm

I work until I fall asleep. It’s a really bad habit but I love working from bed. I take off my make-up using Bioderma’s micellar water and I like to use the Dermalogica night cream. The last thing I do before bed is have a cuddle with my partner. That's a big thing in our house. I think you should always connect with your person or to yourself at the end of the day. On my bedside table, I have a picture of my children, a lamp and my water bottle. I keep it very clean and minimal.
