Dear Readers…
It’s been a funny old month for me – one that began with a trip to Mexico City and ended in New York, with a bit of Monaco thrown in. No complaints – it’s been a brilliant whirlwind – but June is almost like September to me now; a whole month in London stretching ahead, with the promise of renewed productivity and the start of summer and all the events that come with it. Wedding season is well and truly underway – I kicked it off this weekend in a River Island number that I’ve been gatekeeping for months – and we of course have you covered on SL, with plenty of what-to-wear inspo ahead over the coming weeks, including an interview this Friday with the brains behind Bernadette, the wedding guest dress brand of dreams.
If it’s everyday summer fashion you’re after, we’ve tapped online icon Jeanne Damas for her tips – keep your eyes peeled for that on the SheerLuxe Show later this month – plus, the fashion team are busy shooting their favourite pairs of sunnies, so whether you’re a cat eye or aviator person, expect to find all the inspiration you need. I’m particularly excited about some of the profiles that will pop up on the site throughout June – from Harris Reed to Liv Little, we have some of fashion and culture’s most interesting names in the pipeline.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur or employee, across June, we’re bringing you tips and tricks from women across every industry – expect to go behind-the-scenes on the day in the life of a Savile Row pioneer, an interview with the dynamic pair behind fashion behemoth Veronica Beard, and a podcast featuring Claire Richardson, the revered stylist who has turned her hand to entrepreneurship with Reluxe – the pre-loved site for those in-the-know. We also have a very exciting launch coming in July that will support and inspire you in the workplace and beyond…
This month, special mention goes to Assieds-toii – a favourite new homeware discovery that exclusively makes mushroom-shaped stools in kitsch, retro prints. A Laura Ashley-esque pastel floral style now takes pride of place in my home. I’m also loving my new Anissa Kermiche vase – the designer who became famed for her hourglass, bum-shaped ceramics has now launched legs, and she perches perfectly on the edge of my island (until my beagle decides otherwise…) Now, I’m looking for a new TV show to replace the Succession and Ted Lasso shaped holes in my heart – although Cleopatra & Frankenstein, Coco Mellors’ novel that Sherri, Georgina, Tor and Harriet all highly recommended, is keeping me entertained in the meantime. Plus, after a rather torturous wait, a pair of perfect white wide-leg trousers from Raey that I tried on in a MATCHES Come Shopping With Me video have finally come back in stock – I can’t wait to wear them next week with the perfect Zara organza crop top.
