Lavazza Flagship Store

Lavazza has just opened its first UK flagship store in Soho. Located on Great Marlborough Street, visitors can browse the Italian brand’s new 1895 collection, which includes seven new flavours of sustainably sourced coffee, including ‘Petal Storm’ with notes of chocolate, coffee blossom and orange, and ‘Cocoa Rebel’ with notes of chocolate and cinnamon. Shoppers can also enjoy hot drinks at the cafeteria or sample cocktails during the evening from the ‘Coffeetails’ menu – expect drinks like the ‘Negroni Cold Brew’, and the ‘Nuvola Spritz’ made with Campari. There’s also a grocery area with a special tasting counter, plus a restaurant on the first floor with flavours of coffee woven throughout the menu.

Strazzanti Sicilian Sweet Nut Creams

Sicilian Sisters Emilia, Sofia and Nina Strazzanti know a thing or two about great Italian food. Having grown up around their Sicilian family, they create delicious recipes using fresh Italian produce which can be found at their online deli or in the Selfridges Foodhall. Our current favourite? The trio of nut spreads: almond, hazelnut and pistachio cream. Spread them on toast, pastries, cake or panettone – each has a slightly roasted flavour and has been produced using sustainable dry farming methods. Trust us when we say they’re seriously delicious.

DabbaDrop Condiments

Regular SL readers will know we love DabbaDrop, the south Asian plant-based takeaway service that delivers sustainably made food to homes across the capital. We were excited to hear it’s now created a range of condiments. Available for nationwide delivery from Monday 29th November, pots include ginger jam, pineapple and mango chutney, pickled onions, and gunpowder – a spice mix known as Podi in India which is made with sesame seeds, lentils and chilli. Ideal for spicing up homemade curries or serving alongside naan.

Non-alcoholic kombucha brand Real has created a limited-edition spiced tea for autumn. Iron Goddess is lightly sparkling, made from fermented Chinese oolong tea with notes of stewed apple, plum, honeydew and dried apricot. Produced in the Chiltern Hills using natural fermentation techniques, the blend has a sweet finish and velvety texture, making it an ideal drink to accompany dessert. Only 1,000 bottles of Iron Goddess have been produced, so you’ve got to be quick if you want to get your hands on one.

Pensador Hot Chocolate Kits

Mezcal brand Pensador has teamed up with Mexican food brand Cool Chile to create an alcoholic hot chocolate kit. The hot chocolate itself has notes of cinnamon and almonds thanks to the rich Oaxaca cocoa made from ground Tabasqueño cacao beans. Make it according to the instructions, add a shot of Pensador Mezcal and serve with a slice of orange for a festive touch. Kits (£41.50) can be ordered from Cool Chile from Monday 15th November.
