The Zara summer sale is here (and doesn’t our bank balance know it). Of all the kids’ clothing on offer, we’re a big fan of its swimwear range, which includes these cute pineapple and watermelon swim shorts, a chic black and white polka dot swimming costume (so nice even we’d wear it), plus these cool oversized sunglasses.
Whether you’re off on holiday, headed to the local pool or just making a splash in the paddling pool in your back garden, these cheery red hooded watermelon towels from Sainsbury’s will raise a smile and add a dash of colour to your summer.
Summer Reading Challenge
The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every year during the summer holidays. You can sign your child up at your local library, where they can select six library books to read to complete the challenge. There are rewards to collect along the way and it’s free to take part. This year, the theme is Mischief Makers, inspired by the wacky characters in the Beano.
Luna Kids Cinema
Luna Kids Cinema has a simple formula: a classic film (such as Paddington 2, Cars and Coco) beamed on a big screen in a beautiful or prestigious setting, with multiple screenings each day at kid-friendly times. The Luna Kids Bar provides a range of soft drinks, healthy juices and water, while the Big Kids Bar offers everything from prosecco and wine to teas and coffees.
Various venues including Dulwich Park, Hampton Court Palace, Hatfield House, Heaton Park, Priory Park and Tatton Park
The new Gucci Kids collection offers miniature versions of many of the fashion house’s adult staples – and we’re obsessed. Yes, the items are extremely expensive, but we love the fact that it provides the ultimate 'mini-me' style. Even if you're not actually going to shop the collection, there’s no denying it isn’t fun or super cute.
This summer, famous dance studio Pineapple Studios is holding a series of workshops for children between the ages of five and 12. A fun mixed-ability class, the sessions work on all the basics of street dance, taught by a variety of experienced Pineapple Performing Arts School tutors and choreographers. A five-day-long intensive course, the workshops encompass five classes a day across five age groups, cumulating in a spectacular showcase at the end of the week.

Launched in 2013, London-based silk sleepwear and loungewear brand Yolke creates playful, contemporary printed PJs. This season, the brand has launched a kid’s collection: designed to match the mainline cotton collection, the pyjamas are available in seven different prints, in ages 1-10. Sweet dreams indeed.
This month Aqua Shard has launched a Mary Poppins afternoon tea. Inspired by the much-loved stories of PL Travers, the tea will provide a fitting tribute to the author and to Mary Poppins’ magical adventures via a series of nostalgic and creative sweets and savouries that pay homage to the book. We’re looking forward to trying ‘Mary’s chocolate and cherry hat’.

Fearless Flamingo is a range of mindful products designed to encourage children to explore their emotions and stimulate everyday positive expressions. We’re a fan of the Flash Cards, a whole alphabet of positive emotions, all beautifully illustrated with fun A-to-Z animal characters. On the back is a handy description of the emotion and three fun facts about the animal, making them suitable for a range of ages.
