No one does fireworks quite like Ally Pally. It’s been sending up skyrockets and spinning Catherine wheels into the heavens above London for more than 150 years. As well as a German beer festival, film screenings via Luna Cinema, a laser show and a fairground, the two-evening event boasts the best views over the capital.

Southwark Park
Southwark Council delivers its 16th pyrotechnical extravaganza this year. The display is free to residents and one of the few fireworks events in the capital to fall on the very night Guy Fawkes was discovered guarding explosives beneath parliament.

Battersea Park
Award-winning pyro-technicians Jubilee Fireworks are bringing a spectacular 22-minute show to Wandsworth. With space for 50,000 attendees, this is the largest display in the capital. Feeling chilly? Head over to Circus West Village at Battersea Power Station before or after the fireworks to enjoy one of the many restaurants and bars. Otherwise, an after-party will be held at Evolution London immediately after the fireworks display and will go on until 1am.

Crystal Palace Park
On 2nd November, Crystal Palace Fireworks will light up south London with an evening of family friendly entertainment. Alongside a bonfire, fireworks, high-octane pyrotechnics and a laser display, the event will feature an exciting show from Arcadia’s Lords of Lightning, who will fire multimillion-volt bolts from their bodies to the soundtrack of an electric symphony. Street-food traders, a bar, live entertainment and a plethora of fairground rides should keep everyone in the family entertained all evening.

Blackheath
This all-day affair – filled with funfair rides – kicks off at 12pm. Food stalls and bars will open at 5pm, and the fireworks display starts at 8pm. As one of the capital’s few major displays that’s still free, Blackheath attracts crowds of up to 100,000 – get there nice and early for a prime spot.

Victoria Park
Spectacular fireworks will illuminate the skies above Tower Hamlets on 3rd November, when residents can enjoy a free fireworks night in Victoria Park. This year’s display has the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon-landing as its theme. Expect space-inspired fun, with music tracks, soundscapes, spoken-word storytelling and special effects created by Walk the Plank, a leading pyrotechnical and outdoor theatre company.

Head to Wembley for this ‘Light Up The Night’ festival, which combines the best of Bonfire Night and Diwali. The event will feature a packed programme of activities, including a carnival, lantern and light parade, street food market, roaming performers and lantern-making masterclasses.

Wimbledon Park
In Wimbledon Park, the team prides itself on the unobstructed views of its fireworks. There will be two musical-themed performances – the first at 6:45pm and more suitable for young children. Entry also includes access to a funfair, plus a street food village. New for 2019 are fire and light show performers Flame Oz and Halo, who will be the warm-up act before the main display.

Bounds Green
This family friendly firework display and bonfire draws crowds from all over north London. With a variety of food stalls, covering Norwegian waffles to handmade falafel wraps, and an impressive array of sweet treats, there really is something for everyone. For the third year running, a low-noise display, intended for toddlers and those with autism or sensory requirements, will take place prior to the main event.

Clissold Park
The 2019 Hackney Fireworks Display takes place at Clissold Park. This year’s event will be enhanced with synchronised live music, street performances, street food and bars, plus a children’s village and sparkler zone. Gates open at 5pm and the display starts at 7:30pm. The event will remain open and in operation after the display, until 9pm.
