America’s New Female Right, BBC Three
Louis Theroux’s protégé, Layla Wright, leads this exploration into the meteoric – and worrying – rise of far-right women in America. One of her interviewees is teenager Hanna, whose traditional patriarchal family values have earned her a large online following. Then there’s Kirstie, who spends half her time hunting down people on the US/Mexican border, and the other half spewing vitriol on livestream.

FRIDAY
Funny Woman, Sky Max, Now
Gemma Arterton reprises her role as Barbara Parker – or Miss Blackpool, or Sophie Straw. For those who haven’t seen it, Funny Woman is a ‘dramedy’ set in the 1960s, and tells the story of a beauty-queen-turned-comedy-star fighting for her voice to be heard in a period of great social change. This series starts with Sophie (or Barbara) on a high, with Hollywood in sight – but nothing remains plain sailing for long.
