David Hockney: Drawing From Life Exhibition at National Portrait Gallery

Back in January 2020, the National Portrait Gallery opened the biggest exhibition on David Hockney’s drawings – but it was only open for 20 days before the pandemic hit. Today, the gallery will reopen the exhibition, which includes portraits created in pencil, pastel, ink and watercolour, as well as iPhone and iPad apps. There are also 30 new works, painted at Hockney’s Normandy studio between 2021 and 2022, which will be displayed for the first time – including a painting of Harry Styles. Other sitters include his mother, Laura Hockney; his former partner and curator, Gregory Evans; and his master printer, Maurice Payne. Tickets cost £21.

GET DATE NIGHT RIGHT:

Bocca Di Lupo Birthday Celebrations

Bocca Di Lupo turns 15 this month, so we were pleased to hear one of our favourite Italians in London is celebrating by offering a menu of its original dishes. Diners can enjoy sharing plates and wine from its opening menu back in 2008 – with each dish even served at its original price. Start with a radish, celeriac, pecorino and pomegranate salad (for just £4); followed by ricotta tortellini with burnt walnut pesto (£5); and white fish topped with breadcrumbs, aubergines and tomatoes (£7). Splash out on a 2008 vintage wine, then finish with a brioche sandwich filled with hazelnut, pistachio and chestnut gelati (£7), made at sister gelateria Gelupo across the street.
