THE GETAWAY:

On the outskirts of London, Birch is the hotel that calls itself a community, giving city dwellers the chance to relax with creative workshops, meditations, and special tasting menus. The Grade-II listed mansion is throwing a house party with a great line-up of acts, including Defected DJ Sophie Lloyd, DJ Mr Doris, and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard for the finale. There’s also a fun roster of pre-party events, including a seven-course tasting menu at The Zebra Riding Club, a three-course sharing feast at all-day-dining restaurant Valerie’s, a gong bath sound healing session, and free makeovers with Birch’s glam squad. Those travelling with little ones can keep them entertained with creative workshops, a kids’ rave, and a movie night in the cinema room, supervised with childcare from Mortimer Nannies, who will be on hand until 1am. On New Year’s Day, head to the Lynx Bar for bloody marys until 3pm.

THE DINNER & DJ COLLAB:
Paired X AVA at Carousel
AVA Music Group kicks off its residency at rotating kitchen restaurant Carousel on NYE. Ava is behind some of the biggest events and festivals in the UK, and it’s bringing an exciting line-up of acts to the restaurant alongside two top chefs. There are two dining and DJ experiences at 1.30pm-4.30pm and 7.30pm-10.30pm. Guests can choose from food made by Mexico City’s Emme Prieto while DJ Yung Singh plays on the decks, or try a menu by Pablo Díaz as electronic DJ Call Super sets the vibe. Afternoon slots include a five-course meal and champagne, while evening slots comprise a seven-course meal with champagne plus entry to the after party where both DJs will be joined by special guests to ring in the New Year.

THE RAVE:
Studio 338
Studio 338 in Greenwich opened its doors nearly a decade ago, bringing the sounds and DJs from Ibiza to the capital. After reopening a few years ago with a powerful sound system and rotating line-up of DJs and selectors, the spacious venue has one of the biggest capacities in London with a heated terrace that’s open all night. On NYE, it’s hosting a marathon 13-hour event from 8pm until 6am. More than ten DJs will take to the decks with electronic, house, disco and techno music. Confirmed acts including wAFF, Richy Ahmed, Seb Zito, Matthias Tanzmann and Andrew Kay.

THE DJ SET:
Benji B & Guests at Decimo at The Standard
The Standard always throws fun parties, so we were excited to hear Radio 1 presenter and DJ Benji B is headlining this year’s event at the hotel’s tenth-floor Mexican restaurant, Decimo. Over the years, Benji B has collaborated with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, the Creator, to name a few – expect a mix of his most popular songs alongside dancefloor crowd-pleasers. Tickets include a welcome cocktail, then you can choose from Decimo’s extensive selection of tequila and mezcal drinks. Fancy staying overnight? The ‘NYE Stay & Play’ package includes two tickets to the party and an overnight stay, so you can wake up with city views and breakfast at Isla the next morning.

THE THEMED EVENING:
Southbank Centre
London’s Southbank Centre is transforming the Royal Festival Hall for NYE. Each of its five floors will be themed around a different decade, with music and decorations from the 20s through to the present day. Guests can party across six bars, watch live acts on the stage, and even take part in dancing lessons. You can choose tickets with access to street food vendors or go all out with five-course fine dining menus. Just before the clock strikes midnight, guests can head out onto the pop-up party terraces to watch the fireworks display over the Thames. All that’s left to do is choose a decade and dress to impress.

THE 80S NIGHT:
Moth Club
Hackney’s retro Moth Club is hosting an 80s themed party for NYE. In the club’s main event space – which looks like something out of a cool 70s film with its stage, small dancefloor and velvet seating – DJs will play a selection of 80s bangers by Whitney Houston, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, The Cure, Madonna, Wham!, Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner. Ideal if you want to sing along to the classics and don’t fancy an evening of techno or house. Don’t forget to order retro drinks from the bar like pina coladas or cosmopolitans.

O2 Academy Brixton
DnB fans, this one’s for you. O2 Academy Brixton has a mega line-up of drum ’n’ bass and jungle acts for NYE, with over 30 artists taking to the stage for one long mix until the early hours. From 9pm until 5am, you can dance to acts like Shy FX, Dynamite MC, Natty Campbell, Kelvin 373, Benny Page, Ed Solo, Vibe Chemistry and P Money. THE PUB:
The George
After a five-year hiatus, The George in Fitzrovia re-opened last year following a takeover by publican Dominic Jacobs and restaurant group JKS (the team behind Bao, Gymkhana and Lyle’s). To end the year with a bang, The George is hosting a NYE party across its two floors. Guests can sit down to a four-course meal with free-flowing English sparkling wines and a glass of fizz at midnight. Menu highlights include ham hock terrine with toasted brioche, cheese truffle toast, and the pub’s signature sharing dish of venison shoulder served with hispi cabbage, mustard dressing and hazelnuts. After dinner, you can join the team downstairs for more drinks and live music from an Irish band.

THE GLAM EVENING:
The Maine
For a glamorous start to 2023, book a table at The Maine. Guests can enjoy a three-course set menu starting with dishes like giant shrimp cocktails with horseradish sauce, beetroot salad with walnuts and goat’s cheese, or beef tataki with garlic chips. Choose from a main course of sirloin steak with béarnaise sauce or grilled seabass, with triple cooked chips, honey roasted carrots and charred brussels sprouts. Then, there’s cookies with vanilla ice-cream or chocolate mousse with hazelnut praline for dessert. You can also choose to upgrade the set menu with other dishes and champagne for the midnight toast. Studio 54 At The Little Scarlet Door
On New Year’s Eve, The Little Scarlet Door in Soho will pay homage to iconic disco club Studio 54. The bar will be decked out with 1970s decorations to transports guests to the legendary New York venue, known for its extravagant discos and celeb clientele. Expect disco balls, plenty of sparkles, and a light-up dancefloor as DJs spin disco tunes until the early hours. THE LAID-BACK AFFAIR:
Lina Stores
If you don’t fancy staying out until the early hours, Lina Stores is hosting NYE dinner parties at its restaurants in Marylebone and King’s Cross, with special menus and live entertainment. Guest will receive a glass of prosecco or an aperitivo on arrival, before sitting down to enjoy a sharing menu featuring antipasti boards to start and pasta dishes like chestnut mafaldine with braised duck or tagliolini with black truffle. Secondi include grilled prawns with datterini tomatoes and lemon, and luganega fennel sausage served with cavolo nero and chilli, while dessert will be a classic soft chestnut mousse with meringue, whipped cream and grated chocolate. More prosecco will be served to ring in the New Year, before DJs play an eclectic mix of Italian hits until late. Guests in Marylebone will be surprised by extra entertainment (a secret until NYE), and guests at both sites can play a tombola game to win exclusive Lina Stores prizes on the night.
