The Interiors Brand Reinventing Antiques

London-based Ceraudo offers a unique mix of antique and contemporary furniture and accessories. We spoke to founders – and sisters – Emily and Victoria Ceraudo to find out more about their style and the inspiration behind the brand...

Sisters Emily and Victoria Ceraudo founded Ceraudo in 2016 in response to the prohibitively expensive prices gripping the interiors market. Their first aim was to source one-off vintage and antique gems and offer decorative pieces at affordable prices. However, thanks to their enviable design credentials, they soon built a loyal following from customers looking to add individual touches to their homes.

Emily explains: “We came up with the idea for the business when we were furnishing our first homes and felt frustrated by the difficulty we had sourcing beautiful furniture online at the right price. Everything on the high street seemed generic, while luxury design stores were out of our price range. We felt there was a niche for high quality, decorative pieces that spanned different eras and styles, but were accessible.” Since then, Ceraudo has evolved and in 2019, the sisters launched Pome! – their first collection of in-house designed furniture and textiles.

The Design Process

The sisters start by pooling together their inspiration, whether it be colour combinations or finer details, before expanding this into larger pieces such as ottomans or bedside cabinets. Close attention to detail is a running thread throughout the collection, and helps inform the complementary fabrics in the range. Working alongside a graphic designer, they visualise and play around with shapes and details. “We normally end up with lots of different styles that need stripping back to create something concise and cohesive,” Victoria says. “We then send these off for prototyping at our factory.”

The Future

The pair now plan to expand each collection with more accessories. Having recently launched their first wallpaper range, all of which is printed in the UK, customers can now buy the brand’s distinctive pomegranate motif, set within a traditional trellis, across four classic colourways – Oxford Blue, Buttercup, Dusky Pink and Moss. “There are more accessories in the pipeline, which we’re planning to launch soon,” confirms Victoria.
