In The Know: Cool Things For Parents & Kids

In The Know: Cool Things For Parents & Kids

From eco-friendly nappies to the best new after-school clubs, we've rounded up some of the coolest finds for parents, guaranteed to keep the children entertained and you the right side of sane this month.

Belle Enfant Boutique

Belle Enfant is an award-winning luxury fashion brand for children aged 0-4 years. Producing bi-annual collections, we’re completely taken with its Spring/Summer 2018 drop, which features this pretty pale pink romper.

Horniman Museum & Gardens

We mainly love the Horniman for its overstuffed walrus, but kids will be taken by its nature trail Welly Walk. Groups will join a local environmental expert to explore the animals, insects and plants that thrive around the museum in spring. Kids can have a go at sweep-netting and tree-beating.
100 London Road, Forest Hill SE23 3PQ; 28th April; Adults £5, children £3

Playin Choc

Like the idea of a Kinder Egg, but not the refined sugar or plastic parts? Enter Playin Choc, a bean-to-bar, vegan and organic chocolate box that comes with an eco-conscious cardboard toy to assemble (our favourite is the orangutan, from the endangered species collection) and an informational card full of facts. Educational and tasty.
One box, which contains two 10g chocolates and a toy, costs £3.50

Isle of Dogs

We’ve banged on about this one a lot, but trust us: your children are going to love this stop-motion animation from Wes Anderson. It’s set on an island filled with talking canines, which hero Atari must search to find his lost dog Spots. But don’t worry – there’s plenty for adults to love too.
In cinemas now

Maggie & Rose

Maggie & Rose is a family members’ club that provides a beautifully designed creative space for children. With sites in Chiswick, Kensington and Hong Kong, the clubs operate under a one-membership per family policy, so grandparents and extended family can pop in too. Membership includes classes, events, market days and pop-ups, as well as day-to-day access to the clubs, which have cinemas and restaurants as well as play areas.
58 Pembroke Road, Kensington, W8 6NX and 1 Essex Place Square, Chiswick, W4 5UJ

SEALIFE London Aquarium

The London Aquarium is always a great day out for kids, but its new Rainforest Adventure area looks set to ramp up the fun factor. Visitors will get the chance to mingle with creepy crawlies, crocs and critters, including a giant Goliath bird-eating tarantula. Shudder.
County Hall, Westminster Bridge Rd, Waterloo, SE1 7PB; entry from £20.40pp

Kit & Kin

Kit & Kin is a hypoallergenic nappy and skincare brand co-created by presenter and former Spice Girl Emma Bunton. The company only uses natural, eco-friendly ingredients and sustainable materials to create their products. We love the cute collection of eco-nappies, which features animal faces across the bottoms.
Prices start at £9.99 for a pack of 40 eco-nappies

This sustainable Swedish clothing brand for 0 to eight-year-olds is fast becoming one of our favourites. We’re a big fan of the colour palettes, which are inspired by the seasons – there’s no garish neon to be seen here. We like the look of its recently launched swimwear collection, particularly this adorable frilled-back swimsuit.

Spring Rising

On 16th April, Old Spitalfields Market is launching its ‘Spring Rising’ series of interactive kid’s workshops. Taking place on Monday nights for seven weeks, the after-school sessions and supperclubs will be led by artist PomegranART, who will mix interactive classes with dinner provided by a different market trader each week.
16 Horner Square, Spitalfields, E1 6EW; £12pp with an extra £8 for dinner

Fifi & Friends

Fifi & Friends is a clinically tested baby and toddler care collection that offers gentle yet effective care for your baby. Suitable for sensitive skin, the hypoallergenic collection is safe and natural, and features a range of useful products including cleansing wipes, shampoo and conditioner, detangling spray and daily bottom butter.
