Horniman Museum & Gardens
We mainly love the Horniman for its overstuffed walrus, but kids will be taken by its nature trail Welly Walk. Groups will join a local environmental expert to explore the animals, insects and plants that thrive around the museum in spring. Kids can have a go at sweep-netting and tree-beating.

We’ve banged on about this one a lot, but trust us: your children are going to love this stop-motion animation from Wes Anderson. It’s set on an island filled with talking canines, which hero Atari must search to find his lost dog Spots. But don’t worry – there’s plenty for adults to love too.

Maggie & Rose is a family members’ club that provides a beautifully designed creative space for children. With sites in Chiswick, Kensington and Hong Kong, the clubs operate under a one-membership per family policy, so grandparents and extended family can pop in too. Membership includes classes, events, market days and pop-ups, as well as day-to-day access to the clubs, which have cinemas and restaurants as well as play areas.

SEALIFE London Aquarium
The London Aquarium is always a great day out for kids, but its new Rainforest Adventure area looks set to ramp up the fun factor. Visitors will get the chance to mingle with creepy crawlies, crocs and critters, including a giant Goliath bird-eating tarantula. Shudder.

Spring Rising
On 16th April, Old Spitalfields Market is launching its ‘Spring Rising’ series of interactive kid’s workshops. Taking place on Monday nights for seven weeks, the after-school sessions and supperclubs will be led by artist PomegranART, who will mix interactive classes with dinner provided by a different market trader each week.
