The Conscious Edit: March

In The Conscious Edit, we bring you the very best brands, products and initiatives from the world of sustainable fashion. Whether it’s a new label or an eco-friendly venture from brands we love, these are the conscious products, services and launches to know about this month…

All products on this page have been selected by our editorial team, however we may make commission on some products.

The High-Street Collection

As part of its continuing commitment to planet-friendly production, AllSaints has launched its Hope Spring Infernal collection, with more than 70% of pieces featuring sustainable elements such as recycled yarns, responsibly sourced wools and vegetable tanned leathers. The brand has also focused its energies on reducing water waste, with a new spring denim capsule which only uses half the amount of water normally used. Plus, AllSaints has also partnered with factories which use innovative, eco-friendly machinery.

The Knitwear Label

Founded by two French industry veterans, New York label Paradis Perdus creates luxury knitwear made from 100% recycled materials, from the main yarns, right down to the thread used to stitch on interior labels. Taking a unisex approach, expect to find boxy sweaters, joggers and a cool cable knit tabard as part of the collection, as well as the option to view each piece on male and female models.

The Activewear Line

Last week, Reformation launched its first activewear collection and it’s just as sustainable and chic as you’d expect. With a capsule range of bras, leggings and all-in-ones – all in minimal cuts and muted colours – the fabrics are made from REPREVE, which uses 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and is GRS & Oeko-Tex certified.

The Pretty Brand

If you’re a fan of the voluminous silhouettes of Simone Rocha and Cecilie Bahnsen, then you’ll love Cawley. Designed and made in England, the pieces are designed to be functional and timeless, with fabrics sourced from traditional mills. Plus, the brand takes a slow fashion approach by creating only two collections a year, using primarily natural materials like cotton and linen.

The Collaboration

We’re already big fans of The Restory, who have just launched a partnership with global fashion platform Farfetch. If you’re not familiar already, The Restory is a luxury aftercare service, which uses a range of techniques to repair and restore shoes, bags and other leather goods. Now, this latest collaboration means Farfetch shoppers can access the service through the site’s newest service, Farfetch Fix. “Part of the Farfetch ethos is to use the platform for good – championing initiatives that make fashion more sustainable,” says Tom Berry, director of sustainable business. “This partnership with The Restory will allow our customers to cherish their pieces for longer and hopefully encourage them to make more thoughtful purchases.”
