Earl of East has teamed up with The Botanist Gin to launch a limited-edition Fiche Dó Candle inspired by the scent of Islay, home of The Botanist Gin, alongside a series of virtual masterclasses. Led by one of Earl of East's expert candle makers, workshop attendees will be guided through the candle making process. Home by Nico’s four-course Mother’s Day menu begins with potted hot smoked salmon, cucumber and apple; followed by sirloin of beef with red wine jus, butter garlic and thyme served with sides of truffle cheese dauphinoise with garlic and thyme. A cheese course comes in the form of Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese with spiced orchard fruit chutney and water crackers, while dessert is a dark chocolate mousse with salted caramel and golden cocoa nibs. The most recent opening from Robin and Sarah Gills, Bermondsey Larder has developed two offerings for Mother’s Day. Working closely with some of his favourite suppliers, Robin has created two boxes for the occasion: the meat box consists of homemade sourdough with smoked bone marrow butter served with chicken liver mousse, blood orange and Norfolk asparagus with seaweed mayonnaise. Cornish crab salad with coastal herbs follows, then a main course of Farmer Tom lamb merguez hot pot with spring cabbage, ricotta and herb salad. The vegetarian option replaces the mousse with crudités and sunflower seeds pulse, followed by a stracciatella, artichoke and tomato salad and a violetta aubergine with garlic miso, spring cabbage, ricotta and herb salad. Both boxes come with bay leaf panna cotta with Yorkshire rhubarb.
