Based on AK Small’s book Bright Burning Stars, this Amazon Original film tells the story of a competitive friendship between two ballerinas. Kate (Diana Silvers) is an aspiring dancer who’s given a scholarship to attend a prestigious ballet school in Paris. Tonight at 6.30pm Lady Gaga is hosting an intimate online jazz performance in collaboration with Westfield Stratford City to celebrate the release of her new album, Love For Sale. During the exclusive performance, the star will sing a range of jazz songs – fans of her album with legendary singer Tony Bennett will know what to look forward to – and give an exclusive performance of her new single. GET YOUR CULTURE FIX: RA Summer Exhibition
The RA has just opened its annual summer exhibition – delayed as a result of the pandemic – featuring over 1,300 works curated by Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare. This year’s theme of ‘Reclaiming Magic’ celebrates contemporary art and architecture from leading artists, household names, and emerging talent. Across the main RA galleries, expect to see prints, paintings, photography and film, as well as sculpture and architectural works – most of which are available to buy, with proceeds supporting both the exhibiting artist and the RA’s charities. Look out for work by Michael Armitage, Jade Montserrat and Rita Keegan, as well as cutting-edge pieces from Frantz Lamothe, Bärbel Lange and Marie-Rose Lortet. After perusing the exhibition, stop for drinks at the Summer Exhibition bar (open during weekends). The exhibition will run until 2nd January 2022; tickets cost £20.

HEAR FROM YOUR FAVOURITE AUTHORS: Henley Literary Festival
If you want a fun day out for the whole family, Henley Literary Festival takes place from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th October. One of the UK’s biggest book festivals, there are over 120 talks and events to tune into, both from home and at Kings Arms Barn in Henley-on-Thames. Expect to hear from Otegha Uwagba, Elizabeth Day, Candice Brathwaite, Alexandra Shulman, Anya Hindmarch, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and even Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine scientists Dame Sarah Gilbert and Dr Catherine Green. COOK UP A STORM:Charlie Bigham's Virtual Banquet
Book ahead for chef Charlie Bigham's Virtual Banquet on Saturday 9th October at 6pm. The evening, hosted by Charlie and wine writer Will Lyons, consists of a four-course cook-along led by four top chefs: Thomasina Miers, Vivek Singh (founder and exec chef at The Cinnamon Collection), Theo Randall and MasterChef 2014 champion Ping Coombes. Aiming to rase £30,000 for Chefs in Schools – a charity who provide children around the UK with delicious and nourishing food at school – you’ll cook alongside the chefs to create the banquet. The menu consists of bruschetta with ricotta, salsa maccha and watercress; spice-crusted seabream with green mango and coconut chutney; prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast with portobello mushrooms; and Malaysian Mess – a twist on the classic dessert. Tickets cost £95, which includes all home-delivered ingredients, a £5 donation to Chefs in Schools, and a Charlie Bigham tea towel and pair of oven gloves.
