BOOK AHEAD FOR THIS: An Evening With Stanley Tucci

To celebrate the release of his memoir, Stanley Tucci is hosting live talks at the London Palladium on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October – tickets are expecting to sell out quickly, so don’t delay. In conversation with journalist and author Dolly Alderton, the self-proclaimed foodie will share anecdotes about growing up in New York, filming Big Night and Julie & Julia, falling in love over dinner, and teaming up with his wife (Felicity Blunt, sister of Emily) to create meals for his children. Tucci, known for his roles in The Devil Wears Prada and The Hunger Games, went viral last year after he created that negroni on Instagram, so expect a few cocktail recipes, too. Tickets start from £40 and include a copy of his new book, Taste: My Life Through Food.

Claridge’s has opened a new dining room where guests can enjoy private dinners, interactive feasts and special masterclasses. At L’Epicerie, dinner is cooked right in front of you around the ‘chef’s table’ (which seats up to 14). You can enjoy everything from breakfast and lunch to intimate supers, or choose from one of the masterclasses to learn how to make afternoon tea, find out the secret ingredient to their famous lobster wellington, and recreate their signature cocktails and canapés. LEARN FROM THE PROS: British Beauty Week Festival, Covent Garden 

British Beauty Week takes places today until Sunday 12th September in Covent Garden, where guests can discover new brands, tune into a series of talks, and hear from top names in the industry. Today, head to the North Piazza to shop L’Occitane’s Provence Truck where you’ll be able to find out more about their new skincare range, before stopping by Carriage Hall at 4pm to hear a talk on the psychology of hair. Other highlights include a discussion with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley about the future of the beauty industry on Friday 10th at 11.30am, and a masterclass with make-up artist Mary Greenwell on Saturday 11th at 10am, followed by a talk with judges from BBC 3’s Glow Up, Val Garland and Dominic Skinner. Tickets are free – all you need to do is register on the British Beauty Council website.

BRING THE GIRLS HERE: Passoa Sunset Terrace, Vinegar Yard

Today, until Sunday 12th September, Passoa is hosting a pop-up at Vinegar Yard in London Bridge where guests can try the brand’s famous porn star martinis and get involved in a range of fun events. From 1pm, visitors can take part in daily free yoga sessions on the terrace, which has great views of The Shard, before getting the drinks in at the bar. From 12-10pm on Saturday and Sunday, there’ll be live music courtesy of Passoa’s Sunset Sessions – think comfy deck chairs, colourful decorations and poolside tunes. Choose from a classic Passoa Porn Star Martini, a Passoa Spritz made with prosecco and a dash of sparkling water, or a refreshing porn star martini slushie. On Friday 10th September at 5pm, there’s also a cocktail masterclass where you can learn how to recreate each drink.

WATCH A CLASSIC: Openaire Float-In Cinema By Häagen-Dazs

If you didn’t manage to get to Regent’s Canal this summer for the Openaire Float-In Cinema, the team has returned to the docks for a series of September screenings. Available until Sunday 3rd October, visitors can watch a selection of classic movies – including Dirty Dancing, Mama Mia, Grease and Notting Hill – on a GoBoat or deckchair if you prefer to stay on land. Upon arrival, boat ticket holders will be shown aboard and can captain their boat on a 45-minute trip along the canal to Little Venice before mooring at Merchant Square in front of the Openaire big screen. Häagen-Dazs ice-cream will be available by the tub, while RaviOllie will be on hand with homemade pasta and cinema snacks. Tickets start from £17.50.

TRY SOMETHING NEW: Stevie Parle’s Supper Club At JOY

Designer Tom Dixon and chef Stevie Parle have opened a new space on Marylebone High Street. JOY has a plant shop and café, and for the next few months, will host Stevie’s new supper club with intimate dinners for just 30 guests every Thursday night. Shoppers can choose from a range of seasonal flowers and plants, before sitting down for tasty dishes in the café, like clams cooked in sherry, olive and elderberry tapenade, and American cherry pie. On Thursday nights, diners will be treated to a special meal (£55pp) based around seasonal flavours with ingredients supplied by Stevie’s own gardens. The menu is still strictly under wraps, but we’re expecting good things.

TREAT YOURSELF: Champagne and Oyster Sundays AT 28°-50° Chelsea

Wine workshop and restaurant 28°-50° Chelsea has just launched ‘Champagne and Oyster Sundays’ where guests can enjoy 90 minutes of free-flowing fizz and unlimited Maldon Rock oysters for £65pp. Head to the restaurant on the King’s Road from 12pm to treat yourself to a great Sunday lunch. The champagne on offer is Ayala Brut Majeur, which has aromas of white flowers, a savoury complexity and notes of dry, toasty citrus fruits – close to that found in Bollinger. Hungry diners can also stay on for a long lunch or supper to enjoy dishes like seabass ceviche with grapefruit and miso, buttermilk seatrout, lemon posset and baked vanilla cheesecake.

WATCH THIS NEW FILM: Worth, Netflix

Worth just dropped on Netflix. Following the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon, Congress appoints attorney and renowned mediator Kenneth Feinberg (Michael Keaton) to lead the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Assigned with allocating financial resources to the victims of the tragedy, Feinberg and his firm’s head of operations, Camille Biros (Amy Ryan), face the impossible task of determining the worth of a life to help the families who had suffered incalculable losses. When Feinberg locks horns with Charles Wolf (Stanley Tucci), a community organiser mourning the death of his wife, his initial cynicism turns to compassion as he begins to learn the true human cost of the tragedy. We were hooked after the first ten minutes – a must-watch for all.

HAVE A FAMILY DAY OUT: Underbelly Festival, Cavendish Square 

For a great day out the whole family will enjoy, Underbelly Festival has an exciting roster of events on offer. Running in Cavendish Square until the end of September, little ones can enjoy everything from circus shows and baby discos, to a CBBC show from Sam & Mark, and a special performance from Basil Brush. There’s also a comedy club for kids, while adults can enjoy live podcast shows (Nobody Panic, Films to be Buried With, A Gay and a Non Gay’s Big Gay Show, and Drunk Women Solving Crime, to name a few) before hitting the bars for street food, beers and cocktails. Don’t forget to hit the fairground rides.
