BOOK AHEAD: Barlow & Bear At Bicester Village
This event doesn’t take place until next week, but it’s one to know about ahead of time. From Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th November, American song-writing duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear will take to the stage at Bicester Village to perform hits from their new album, The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical. Inspired by Netflix’s period drama, Barlow & Bear created the album after their musical theatre TikToks went viral – a mixture of jazz, classical music and pop, the feel-good songs will transport you straight into the world of Bridgerton. The event also includes a supper club held at The Apartment, with food and drink provided by caterers Quince & Clover and Clouds Atelier. Register at the below link to claim a free ticket.

WATCH A MAGICAL PERFORMANCE: Giselle At The Royal Opera House
Choreographed by Peter Wright, this production of Giselle has all the drama and elegance you’d expect from The Royal Ballet. As the story goes, young peasant girl Giselle falls in love with a philandering count, only to find out he is promised to another woman. After learning about his infidelity, Giselle kills herself and her soul enters the ranks of the Wilis – a group of young women who died before their wedding day. It turns out Giselle’s love from beyond the grave is more powerful than she realises… Tickets start from £6.

DISCOVER NEW FLAVOURS: The Great Feast At The Old Selfridges Hotel
Taking place on Thursdays to Sundays every week until Saturday 18th December, The Great Feast food festival at The Old Selfridges Hotel kicks off this week, when there are four experiences offering guests the chance to try a range of food from top chefs and London restaurants. Choose from general entry tickets (£20pp) to try food from the ‘Counter of Joy’ from chefs like Andrew Wong and Ravinder Bhogal, or book a table in the ‘Magic Garden’ (£30pp) to enjoy a sit-down meal with cocktails and live entertainment. If you want to go all out, a ‘Great Feasting’ ticket (£100pp) includes a seven-course tasting menu in the dining hall featuring dishes like wagyu pastrami crumpets, steamed cod with salted chilli, and aloo ghobi with cheese croquettes.

RANKIN
GET YOUR CULTURE FIX: RankinLIVE x West End Theatre
Fujifilm has created an exhibition with renowned photographer Rankin. At the Fujifilm House of Photography in Covent Garden, the space pays tribute to the theatre industry’s resilience during the pandemic. Featuring 150 portraits of actors, musicians, writers, directors, dressers, designers and technicians – all shot by Rankin – the exhibition is an homage to the enduring appeal of the West End. From Thursday 25th November, visitors will be able to purchase a limited-edition book of the portraits, with all proceeds going to charities including the Theatre Artists Fund. The exhibition will run until Monday 31st January.

Late-night bar Percy’s Kensington is a new spot to have on your radar. The bar itself looks like a cool members club, only without the strict dress code or rules. TRY A NEW WORKOUT: Yoga At The Natural History Museum
On Sunday 14th November from 8am to 9.15am, the Natural History Museum will host a yoga class in collaboration with fitness studio East of Eden. Taking place in the Hintze Hall, beneath the iconic blue whale skeleton, you’ll learn how to tune into your own breathing, before following a series of moves to energise both body and mind. Led by one of East of Eden’s yogis, it finishes with a gong bath session to help you really unwind, and each ticket includes access to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Suitable for all levels, all you need to a yoga mat. The class costs £35 or £31.50 for museum members.

PICK UP COOL ARTWORK: Sotheby's Charity Art Auction
Sotheby's annual charity art action takes place online from today until Monday 15th November. Some big names have donated pieces, including Antony Gormley (whose piece is expected to reach £45k), Paula Rego, Anish Kapoor, Quentin Blake, Julian Opie and Bridget Riley. Now in its 12th year, the auction features over 50 contemporary artists and galleries, spanning paintings, drawings and sculptures. All proceeds will be donated to Freedom From Torture, which helps refugees from Afghanistan. Artworks start at £500.

The space spans 16 buildings designed by architects from around the world, all of which host pop-ups, exhibitions and events throughout the year.
