11 Fun Things To Do This Easter Weekend

Looking for things to do this weekend? Look no further – from a restaurant re-opening to a culture hit, our guide has options for everyone…

FOOD & DRINK

Berenjak Mayfair

The JKS-backed Iranian favourite Berenjak has opened its third London site in Mayfair – and it’s the biggest and most ambitious yet. Inspired by the coastal villas of northern Iran, the interiors are moodier and more refined than its Soho and Borough siblings, with dark woods, low lighting and a slightly more elevated feel. On the menu, there’s plenty that regulars will recognise, but also over 20 new dishes, including a thoughtful lunch offering that spotlights regional Iranian cooking in a more homely, comforting way. Add to that a seriously impressive wine list – with over 70 bottles and plenty by the glass.

Expect a polished but relaxed offering designed for long, easy gatherings – whether that’s a late brunch, proper lunch or stretched-out supper.

Taverna Ermou

Taverna Ermou

Greek hospitality group Ergon has brought its Taverna Ermou concept to London for the first time, landing in Marylebone with a generous 120-cover space that’s already drawing a stylish crowd. The menu, led by culinary director Panagiotis Xanthis, leans into what the team calls a ‘fish soul’ – so seafood takes centre stage, from simply grilled fish to more indulgent plates designed for sharing. Alongside that, expect a strong line-up of classic meze, dips, fresh salads and comforting pastas, all rooted in traditional Greek cooking but executed with a modern, polished edge.

CULTURE

Interstellar Live

Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic returns to the big screen at the Royal Albert Hall – but this is far from a standard screening. Interstellar Live pairs the film with a full live performance of Hans Zimmer’s iconic score, played by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in one of London’s most atmospheric venues. The result is something far more immersive than a cinema experience, with the music taking on a life of its own as it fills the space. This series is continuing throughout the year, next up is the Lord Of The Rings anthology in consecutive order – starting with The Fellowship Of The Ring on the 30th April.

Veronica Ryan: Multiple Conversations

Turner Prize-winning artist Veronica Ryan is the subject of a major exhibition at Whitechapel Gallery. Spanning more than 100 works, the show explores her practice across sculpture, textiles and works on paper, including rarely seen pieces from the 1980s alongside more recent creations.

Teeth ’n’ Smiles Play

Teeth ’n’ Smiles

Rebecca Lucy Taylor – better known as Self Esteem – makes her West End drama debut in David Hare’s cult 1975 play. Set in the late ’60s, it follows a disillusioned rock star at the end of her career, blending sharp, character-led writing with live music. The role was originally performed by a young Helen Mirren, who drew inspiration from Janis Joplin – making Taylor a fitting modern counterpart. Direction comes from Daniel Raggett, whose recent revival of Accidental Death of an Anarchist was a standout West End success.

Top Cuvée Easter Egg Hunt

For a more grown-up take on Easter, Highbury wine bar Top Cuvée is hosting its cult annual egg hunt. Once again, the spot is joining forces with Tony’s Chocolonely, promising a city-wide treasure hunt with a decidedly grown-up twist. Up for grabs are full-sized chocolate eggs and Top Cuvée totes for the first 1,000 finishers, plus a standout grand prize for one especially speedy hunter. As ever, it’s not just about the hunt – expect natural wine flowing, sandos on hand and plenty of chaotic, good-spirited energy throughout the day.
