HEALTH & WELLNESS

The Equanimity Festival

Designed to help Londoners start 2026 in a calmer, more balanced state, The Equanimity Festival is taking over King’s Cross with a whole-body wellness programme running throughout January to March. The thoughtfully curated line-up brings together workshops, classes and retreats focused on nurturing mind, body and soul – from yoga and meditation to sound healing and breathwork. A major highlight is the return of Rob and Josie da Bank’s cult Slomo pop-up, delivering next-generation contrast therapy through wood-fired saunas, cold plunges and immersive ice baths. With additional experiences spanning skincare, fitness and food, it’s the city-wide reset worth bookmarking.

Various venues across King’s Cross; 6th January-31st March

Song Que Pho Bar

Song Que Café has been a go-to for authentic Vietnamese cooking since 2002 – family-run, no-frills and worth the queue. Now, the team has opened Song Que Pho Bar, a sister site dedicated to one of Vietnam’s most beloved dishes: pho. Taking over the former Pearly Queen site in Spitalfields, the new opening focuses on deeply aromatic broths, perfectly cooked noodles and traditional toppings, delivered with the same warmth and value for money that made the original a local institution.

CULTURE

Hawaiʻi: A Kingdom Crossing Oceans

To mark 200 years since King Kamehameha II and Queen Kamāmalu became the first Hawaiian monarchs to visit the UK, the British Museum presents a major new exhibition exploring Hawaiʻi’s global connections. Through rarely seen objects, the show traces the historic journey between Hawaiʻi and Britain and the cultural exchange it sparked. At its heart are two extraordinary royal treasures reunited for the first time in over a century: a red-feathered cloak gifted to King George III and the original letter petitioning the British Crown. A powerful, timely exhibition that sheds light on sovereignty, identity and cross-cultural history.
