CULTURE

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Few summer traditions feel as quintessentially London as a performance at Shakespeare's Globe, and this season sees the return of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Set within the open-air theatre, the production leans into the play’s sense of mischief and magic, with tangled love stories, playful performances and plenty of theatrical spectacle.

David Bowie: You’re Not Alone

A decade on from his death, David Bowie remains one of our most influential cultural figures – and now Lightroom is offering a new way to experience his work. You’re Not Alone is a large-scale immersive show that draws on material from the Bowie archive, combining rare footage, handwritten lyrics and personal notes with 360º visuals and spatial audio. Narrated in Bowie’s own voice, it’s a personal portrait that explores everything from creativity to identity in a way that feels both expansive and intimate.

FOOD & DRINK

SW1 Sips At The Berkeley

The Berkeley is spotlighting its postcode with a new cocktail concept that feels distinctly local. SW1 Sips takes inspiration from some of the area’s most recognisable names – from Anya Hindmarch to couturier Stewart Parvin – as well as neighbourhood institutions like The Grenadier. The result is a playful but polished drinks list that nods to Belgravia’s heritage, all served in suitably refined surroundings.

Cantoast Bakery

After building a loyal following on the pop-up circuit, Cantoast has secured its first semi-permanent home in Marylebone as part of Westminster’s Meanwhile On initiative. The concept centres on Hong Kong-style French toast made with house milk bread and topped with inventive custards – think salted egg, pandan coconut and black sesame – alongside rotating seasonal specials. The new space will also introduce Korean-inspired salt breads and a broader pastry offering, all made in-house.
