The Rebellious Wine Club at Bourne & Hollingsworth

Clerkenwell’s Bourne & Hollingsworth has created a monthly wine club hosted by women in the wine industry. Tonight, Ruth Spivey – wine writer and founder of Wine Car Boot – will show guests how temperature can help you get the most of your wine. Tickets cost £39 (including wine and snacks). Fanfare Label Pop-Up at Liberty

Today, sustainable fashion brand Fanfare Label is launching a ‘Design Your Own Jeans’ service at Liberty. Customers can design their own pair of jeans, either by upcycling an existing pair or purchasing Fanfare Label's 'Keep Hold' jeans made from recycled denim. Book a free 30-minute appointment to design your perfect pair by adding patchwork or embroidery as well as other design elements made from Liberty fabric. When your jeans are ready, you can pick them up in store, or have them delivered, two weeks later. Prices start from £120.

The Macallan Pop-Up at Rosewood London

Whisky is having a moment. To confirm it, Stella and Mary McCartney have been working on something exciting with one of the most famous names in spirits. Inspired by the sisters’ love of Scotland, The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow is the new whisky to have on your radar – and for the next few weeks, SL readers can try it at Rosewood London hotel’s courtyard and terrace which have been transformed into a beautiful Amber Meadow. Wander through the meadow to find the terrace restaurant, where you can cosy up under lambswool and alpaca wool throws to try cocktails like Mary’s ‘Wildwood’ featuring The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old with clarified apple and freeze-dried blackberries; and the ‘Foraging Old Fashioned’ with ‘sous bois’ verjus, evaporated nougat, palo cortado and edible moss. There’s also a special à la carte menu with dishes like seaweed crackers with foraged herbs; and grilled miso-glazed aubergine with mushroom purée, cistus, garlic and kale – all featuring herbs, plants and foliage found on the Macallan estate.

Enjoy a personalised 30-minute (£45) or one-hour (£80) make-up experience with the team's pros. Visitors can also relax, unwind and chat to the team’s beauty experts about various skincare concerns, shop a range of products, or enjoy an express facial in collaboration with The Face Planner. Choose from the ten-minute ‘Lift & Tone’ facial for a targeted massage (£25) or the 20-minute signature facial (£32). You can even book a skin analysis treatment (£20) to help you tackle specific concerns.

Riaz Phillips x Bodega Rita's

Riaz Phillips is the Jamaican chef known for his generous plates of Caribbean soul food. To celebrate his new cookbook East Winds, he’s taking over the kitchen at sandwich shop Bodega Rita's for a two-week pop-up. Diners can try recipes from the book, including dal puri roti (a traditional Caribbean flatbread) and ‘buss up roti’ filled with curry goat, spiced curry chicken, sweet curry shrimp or channa aloo (chickpeas and potatoes). Finish the meal with homemade lime and ginger juice, and pick up a copy of the book while you’re there.

The Craft Room by Manolo Blahnik

Manolo Blahnik opens an immersive exhibition at Mayfair’s Xydrobe on Saturday 21st October. The Craft Room is the brand’s first virtual reality experience where guests can see how its shoes are designed and made. The exhibition explores the history of the brand with photography, sounds and scent to transport you to the shoemaker’s workshop. You’ll also see original sketches of the brand’s most iconic shoes, as well as a collection of men’s and women’s designs.

Larry’s at National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery recently reopened its doors after a major refurbishment. Book tickets to a late-night exhibition, then head to the jazz bar beneath the gallery for an evening of live music. Every Wednesday to Saturday evening, various musicians and bands will set the tempo, while guests enjoy cocktails and snacks. On Friday nights Kitty LaRoar and Nick Shankland will bring old-school Hollywood glamour to the bar, while jazz folk group Whiskey Moon Face perform every Saturday. Over the coming months, there will also be burlesque performances, live DJs and more.

Delight Exhibition

If you enjoyed the V&A exhibition on South Korea earlier this year, you’ll be excited to hear immersive events company Fever has opened an exhibition at Borough Yards, celebrating Seoul’s culture. Produced by Seoul-based artist Gyoungtae Hong and director Younsook Im, the Delight exhibition presents 12 large-scale pieces featuring 25 media installations that represent Korean deities and landmarks, as well as stories that bring the city’s history to life. London Literature Festival

The two-week London Literature Festival at Southbank Centre includes talks, workshop and events hosted and led by some of the UK’s most famous authors – as well as international names. For the first time, it has been guest-curated by George the Poet, with events that showcase Black British authors. Highlights include talks from Sir Patrick Stewart, Kerry Washington, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Ed Gamble, alongside new work by Yu Miri, Teju Cole, Ian Rankin and Bryan Washington. On Friday 20th October, George the Poet will headline a spoken word evening at Royal Festival Hall. Tickets start from £10.

Delli at Netil Market

Delli is the marketplace and community platform designed for food lovers, created by Depop creator Simon Beckerman. Much like Depop, Delli employs a ‘drop’ model, which sees exclusive produce from food makers across the UK featured on the app for a limited period. This month the team is hosting a series of ‘weekend trolley takeovers’ at its first permanent store in Netil Market. On Saturday 21st October, Eat by Amy will serve treats from her vegan bakery, before Oh My Choc serves its handmade chocolates on Sunday 22nd October.

Bloomberg Arcade x Midnight Runners

Running clubs are a great way to meet people and network on the go. Midnight Runners organises group runs in the capital, with various sessions based on running ability and speed – a new Monday run passes famous landmarks like St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge and finishes with dinner at one of Bloomberg Arcade’s restaurants. Organic juice brand Plenish will open The Plenish Café today and tomorrow to celebrate the launch of its new barista drinks – the UK's first barista 'milk' range free from added oils and additives. Guests can nab a free coffee, made using its new almond, oat or soya milks. Plus, the café has teamed up with Pilates instructor Ashlea McKee, founder of Pilates with Ashlea, to host fitness classes – tickets cost £5 and there are still slots available for Friday 20th October. Sessions are open to everyone, with a focus on stretching, flexibility and mindfulness to help you start the weekend right.
