What To Do This Weekend 23.1.25
BOOK IN SOME TLC:
Backstage
Opened at the end of last year, Backstage is a slick beauty spot on London’s King’s Road. Hailing from Ukraine, where it’s the largest salon chain in Kyiv, Backstage has a unique multi-service approach: you can get your hair cut and blow-dried, make-up done and nails fixed all in one go. Plus, there’s a bar on site so you can enjoy a glass of bubbles while you get pampered.

OPEN YOUR MIND:
London Short Film Festival

Screenings cover a multitude of genres, from documentaries about subversive communities of the 90s to intimate modern love stories to snapshots of those who make up the mosaic of a busy city but are often overlooked. The Nail SPA Menu offers everything from a simple colour refresh to nourishing manicures and pedicures, complete with an organic collagen protein jelly mask. For a full day of relaxation, check out the spa’s Winter Glow Package, available until Friday 28th February. Designed to combat the winter blues and promote vitality, it features CurrentBody’s Series 2 LED Light Therapy Mask paired with Omorovicza’s signature full-body massage, enhanced by a menu of omega wraps and revitalising smoothies. For guests seeking deeper rejuvenation, the experience can be boosted with The Defender IV infusion by Drip Hydration UK, enjoyed in one of the spa’s private cabanas.

GRAB A TABLE:
Tamila
After opening its doors in Clapham at the end of last year, Tamil has now launched in King’s Cross. The second place will follow the same formula as the Northcote Road venue, with a menu inspired by head chef Prince Durairaj’s South Indian heritage. Start your meal with a chilli cheese dosa (a savoury Indian crepe), onion bajis and a selection of chutneys. Sharing curries and larger mains like spiced tandoori chicken, paneer butter masala and dhal are best mopped up with garlic naan bread and soft roti. Some classic cocktails have been given an Indian twist, including a gunpowder margarita with a tamarind salt rim and a ginger paloma. And save room for a swirl of mango soft serve to finish.
