TRY NEW FLAVOURS: Peckham Cellars x Two Hot Asians

On Wednesday 1st June, Two Hot Asians will take over Peckham Cellars in its first chef guest series of the summer. The limited-edition menu includes vegan chips with smoky whipped tofu and kimchi hot sauce; Chinese arancini balls with mala ketchup; fried turnip cakes; and honey sambal pork buns with slaw. DJ and radio presenter and Scarlett O’Malley will soundtrack the evening with 70s soul and disco tunes. The event will have walk-in only tables from 5pm, so there’s no need to book ahead either.

VISIT THIS POP-UP: Anya Hindmarch Garden Emporium

Anya Hindmarch’s Village in Belgravia has opened a garden emporium, where you can shop until Sunday 3rd July. Inspired by garden centres in the 1970s, the emporium coincides with the Chelsea Flower Show to celebrate the best of British gardening, and the Jubilee. Shoppers will find a selection of indoor and outdoor plants, plus garden accessories and tools created in collaboration with horticulture brand Thomson & Morgan – think floral picnic hampers, garden totes, aprons, watering cans and vintage kaftans. Later in the month, you can also take part in terrarium workshops for adults and children.

VISIT THIS EXHIBITION: Our Time On Earth At Barbican Centre

This exhibition explores the effect climate change has had on the planet and what humans can do to help tackle the problem. With immersive installations, it suggests radical ways we could live sustainably in the future, with perspectives spanning art, science and activism. Don’t miss the large rainforest prints by Marshmallow Laser Feast and Andres Roberts.

SAIL TO HAMPTON COURT: GoBoat Jubilee Ride

GoBoat has teamed up with The Luxury Picnic Company for high tea on the Thames. From Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June, you can drive a GoBoat from Kingston to Hampton Court Palace while enjoying a classic afternoon tea. On Friday 3rd June, you can even add on a free butler service for royal treatment aboard the boat. The experience is both dog and child friendly, with life jackets and buoyancy aids, and no prior boating knowledge is necessary as staff will give you a full tutorial before you set sail. Tickets cost £95 for one hour, £135 for two hours, and £175 for three hours.

MEET THE GIRLS: Mama Shelter x Malfy Gin

Malfy Gin has a new cocktail residency at Mama Shelter in Shoreditch. Throughout June and July, guests can sample gin-based cocktails at the Garden Bar, take part in mixologist masterclasses and listen to DJs on the rooftop terrace at weekends. Choose from classic dirty martinis and brambles or go for something a little different like the ‘Acqua Azzurra Spritz’ made with Malfy gin, sparkling water, prosecco, raspberry and lemon.

TREAT YOURSELF: Floozie, Covent Garden

Following a three-month pop-up, Floozie has opened a permanent site in Covent Garden. Founded by former Claridge’s pastry chef Kimberley Lim, Floozie makes gooey vegan cookies with flavours like Cinnamon Crunch, Chocolate Crunch and Pecan Pie. To celebrate the Jubilee weekend, visitors can also enjoy a limited-edition English Strawberry flavoured cookie stuffed with homemade strawberry and elderflower jam. There’s also a new ice-cream sundae featuring a cookie of your choice and topped with chocolate sauce and a cherry. Drop by on Saturday 5th June to join in the Jubilee celebrations – the 70th customer of the day will snag a year’s supply of Floozie cookies.

WATCH A NEW BALLET: Like Water For Chocolate At The Royal Opera House

The Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theatre will perform this contemporary Mexican story at The Royal Opera House from Thursday 2nd to Thursday 17th June. Based on Laura Esquivel’s seminal novel, Like Water For Chocolate tells the story of a young girl named Tita who longs to be reunited with her love Pedro. She’s forbidden from seeing him because of a family tradition: the youngest daughter cannot marry and must instead take care of her mother until she dies. Tickets start from £5.

HIT THE BIKE: Psycle Jubilee Weekender

Between Wednesday 1st and Sunday 5th June, Psycle is offering two classes for £25. Spinning classes blend high-intensity cardio with strength training and choreography to a fast-paced playlist, while barre and yoga sessions are designed to tone and improve flexibility. You can also book Strength classes which incorporates HIIT, circuit-based cardio and resistance training. Bicester Village has teamed up with the British Fashion Council to launch a pop-up boutique to showcase the best sustainable British fashion. Open until Wednesday 15th June, the pop-up has been designed by Richard Quinn with clothing and accessories from 18 brands, including Alighieri, Christopher Kane, Mother of Pearl, Phoebe English, Roksanda and Sophia Webster.
