TRY NEW FLAVOURS:

Tandoor Chop House x Two Hot Asians

Indian restaurant Tandoor Chop House has teamed up with chef duo Two Hot Asians to create a king prawn and kaffir lime coriander naan. Available throughout June, the special is a fragrant coriander naan topped with king prawns, kaffir lime leaves, bird’s eye chillies and mango yoghurt glaze. Other dishes on the menu we recommend include Chop House’s whole sea bream, crispy lamb chops and black daal.

TAKE THE KIDS:

London Festival of Architecture

London’s Festival of Architecture kicks off tomorrow, celebrating some of the capital’s most innovative architecture and stand-out designers. This year’s theme is ‘In Common’, focusing on the architecture Londoners share and the spaces most important to the city’s communities. Visitors can drop into exhibitions, listen to talks and see large-sale installations across the capital. Highlights include installations at Royal Victoria Dock by Yinka Ilori, the ‘Farm-to-Fork’ factory in Woolwich where crops will be grown at scale (a fascinating look at the future of farming), and guided tours of the Supreme Court in Westminster. Take the kids to a big Lego build where they can build a house or garden for prizes, or sign them up to a ‘Little Architect’ workshop for an afternoon of drawing. Most events are free, otherwise tickets start from £10.

CELEBRATE SUMMER:

Gelupo

Regular SL readers will know we love Soho’s Gelupo, so we were excited to hear the Italian gelateria has reopened its doors following a makeover. With bright and light interiors, the space has chocolate-coloured leather banquettes and a letterboard wall menu to showcase its new drinks menu – you can now order Italian spritzes and sparkling wine alongside your ice-cream. Current gelato flavours include kiwi, gin and elderflower; strawberry sherbet; mascarpone; yogurt and lemongrass; and alphonso mango.

SEE AN EXHIBITION:

London Gallery Weekend

London Gallery Weekend kicks off on Friday 4th June for three days of exhibitions, talks and events. Over 150 of the city’s contemporary galleries will host special events and late-night openings, including Bosse & Baum, Hauser & Wirth, Cecilia Brunson Projects, Grosvenor Gallery, JD Malat Gallery, and Pi Artworks. Our top pick is American photographer Bob Colacello’s first solo exhibition in London at Thaddaeus Ropac gallery, which documents his long-standing collaboration with Andy Warhol and includes candid shots of stars like Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Each area of London has a curated neighbourhood map, so you can hit up your local galleries, too.
