VISIT THIS NEW EXHIBITION:

Africa Fashion at The V&A

The V&A has just opened an exhibition about African fashion to celebrate its creativity, ingenuity and global impact. The most extensive exhibition of African fashion to date, it celebrates the vibrant scene through 250 objects on display, from garments and sketches to photography and film. Several pieces have been loaned from the personal archives of iconic mid-20th century African designers, including Shade Thomas-Fahm, Chris Seydou, Kofi Ansah and Alphadi. The exhibition explores how fashion, alongside music and visual arts, formed a key part of Africa’s cultural renaissance, laying the foundation for today’s fashion revolution. It also celebrates a new wave of African designers like Imane Ayissi, IAMISIGO, Moshions and Sindiso Khumalo. Tickets cost £16.
