Janette Beckman at The Pilgrm Hotel

The Pilgrm Hotel in Paddington has opened a free exhibition by Janette Beckman. The British photographer has selected some of her best work to be showcased in the communal space of the hotel. Beckman has shot countless artists on both sides of the Atlantic during her 30-year career, including LL Cool J, Sade, Salt-N-Pepa, The Clash, Run DMC and Beastie Boys. Once you’ve seen the display, stop at the bar to try out the new summer cocktail menu.

Pizza Pilgrims Party

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Pizza Pilgrims is hosting London’s biggest ever pizza party at Camden Beer Hall on Saturday 12th August. The restaurant will bring a slice of Naples to the capital with its street food and pizzas, limoncello, cherry negroni shots and a special collab beer from Camden Town Brewery. DJs will play while guests can take part in pizza-making masterclasses. There are ten new pizza flavours to try including ‘The Carbonara’ with crispy guanciale bacon, pecorino romano, al dente spaghetti, egg yolk and mozzarella, and ‘The Fiorentina’ with creamed spinach, fior di latte mozzarella, parmesan and crispy onions. There are two time slots to choose from: 1pm to 4pm and 6.30pm to 10pm; tickets cost £29.50.

One Hundred Shoreditch is the place for cocktails and a boogie out East. This week, it reintroduces Lobby Lates every Thursday and Friday, featuring a roster of DJs and £10 cocktails to kick off the weekend. This Friday, Donnie Sunshine will play a range of house and disco remixes – plus, for the next six weeks, the hotel’s rooftop bar will host ‘Mr Lyan & Friends’ with mixologist takeovers each week. On Sunday 6th and Monday 7th August Mr Lyan himself will create cocktails from his bar Lyaness.

Morley's x Heinz at The Standard

South London’s best chicken shop chain Morley’s has teamed up with Heinz for a pop-up at The Standard hotel. At the hotel’s ground-floor restaurant Double Standard until 3rd September, diners can try Morley’s decades-old chicken recipe with new Heinz sauces. Choose from fried chicken, popcorn chicken, cauliflower bites, hot wings or chicken drumsticks topped with caviar – served with waffles or fries. Heinz has even created a fried chicken sauce and a truffle mayo for the occasion. Make sure to save room for desserts like caramelised apple donuts or chocolate sundae sprinkled with ketchup sherbet.

If you missed London and Brighton Pride, Margate has its celebration on Saturday 12th August. Hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant River Medway, the line-up of performers includes B*witched, Claire Richards, Duncan James and So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia, as well as Margate’s own Social Singing Choir. The Pussycat Dolls’ Kimberly Wyatt will host the official afterparty with the ‘Don’t Cha Disco’ at Dreamland’s Hall by the Sea – so expect dancing until the early hours. Get to Margate early to take a spin on the vintage-inspired rides and have fun in the amusement arcade.

Dinosaur World Live returns to Regent’s Park with its action-packed show that brings the prehistoric world to life. Discodelic at The Mandrake Hotel

The Mandrake hotel in Fitzrovia has launched a new night on Thursdays, when guests can listen to disco music while trying a selection of limited-edition cocktails made with Crystal Head Vodka. Each week until September, ‘Discodelic’ at the hotel’s Waeska Bar will welcome special guest DJs to play disco and house tunes mixed with newer releases all night. Tonight, Canadian DJ duo Diana Boss will play a selection of soul and disco tracks until 1am.
