GO OUT OUT:

Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace

Iconic NYC institution Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace was loved by celebs in the late 70s for its late-night roller disco parties. After closing in the 80s, the team behind the original venue has opened a permanent site in London, next to Westfield White City. Created in partnership with – wait for it – R&B artist Usher, the sprawling new venue is housed in a cool Grade II-listed former power station with a roller rink, live music room, diner and shop if you want to buy your own skates. The rink is open until 1am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with food and drink available at the Hot Dogs and Caviar diner, where you can try burgers and fries, hot chicken sandwiches and a selection of American-style desserts. Two-hour skate sessions start from £15.

MEET THE GIRLS:

NoMad London Holiday Pop-Up

NoMad London hotel has opened a six-week festive pop-up at its new cocktail bar Common Decency. Venture down to the lower-ground floor to find the bar which has been transformed with Christmas decorations, festive music and a new cocktail menu – plus, there’ll be plenty of special surprises in the coming weeks. Perfect for a festive day out with the girls, new drinks are split into the ‘Naughty’ list featuring classic cocktails and the ‘Nice’ list with lower ABV options. We like the sound of the ‘Not The Buttons’ made with bourbon, sherry, ginger, lemon and brown butter, and served with a gingerbread man. You can also order ‘Cocktail Explosions’ made for the table, or book one of the bar’s three snugs which seat up to 12.
