The Sleeper Founders Talk AW23 Party Style

With party season on the horizon, you might be starting to think about what you’re going to wear to all those events. For fresh inspiration, we turned to two of the most stylish party dressers in the business – Sleeper The Label founders Asya and Kate – to find out what they plan on wearing and the trends they’re loving this year.

The Trend

It’s everywhere already, but we plan on embracing silver big time this year. It's such a fun choice for a party and it looks great with black or even a pop of red. Keep an eye out for the Disco jacket, which is part of our Holiday ’23 collection, dropping soon.

The Cosy Choice

Winter white is always chic. We love to wear it head-to-toe as a pair of pyjamas – perfect when you might be hosting a drinks party at home or going round to friends for a cosy festive dinner.

The Must-Have Piece

A statement jacket is always a good investment ahead of party season. Warm but stylish, we recommend opting for something like an oversized shearling bomber. Think Sex and the City when Sarah Jessica Parker runs down the street in her pyjamas with an oversized fur jacket over the top…

The Under The Radar Brand

We love what Caro Editions is doing. It always comes up with unique designs, as well as several pieces that can be styled for parties – whether it’s a bright suit, cool jacket or a statement top.

The Party Bag

Vintage bags are worth looking into. For example, Kate has a black Gucci 1947 Bamboo bag that was a gift from her mother’s friend while she was a student. Pieces like these are priceless and can add such a personal touch to your party look.

The Heels

We both agree we’d rather go barefoot than wear heels. But if we had to, then kitten heels are definitely our go-to.

The Outfit Upgraders

If you want to elevate your look or give it a bit more personality, a luxe piece of jewellery will draw attention to the face and brighten up the eyes. Where possible, it’s worth going vintage to make sure your piece is a one-off.

The Dress Alternatives

If a dress isn't your thing, party PJs are no-brainer. Elsewhere, a corset or party top like a Totême strapless piece plus some tailored trousers is a sleek combo. Alternatively, try wearing a pair of pyjama bottoms with a stylish piece of knitwear from somewhere like Lisa Yang. Finish with some killer heels and great jewellery.

The Cool Footwear

We love a good pair of cowboy boots. They’re really on trend right now but a brand worth knowing about is Loq – which has a really beautiful mix of styles. Slippers are also a cool choice, especially a pair of feathered or silky ones. They're super cosy and super comfortable but add a slightly more unique touch to your party look if a heel isn't for you.

The Party Make-Up

If you like to make more of a statement with your outfit, it’s good to go a little more pared back with your make-up. Invest more in skincare and keep the rest simple. Blush and highlight are the star players of any party look. We’re particularly fond of the Charlotte Tilbury creamy blush.

The Handbag Essentials

In our party bags you’ll probably find lipsticks – anything really moisturising and hydrating. Then, since neither of us are big heel people, we’ll often have blister pads on hand – plus, a mini fragrance to top up throughout the night.

The Cause

Sleeper has supported World Breast Cancer Month since 2016 through the ‘Pink October’ initiative – a charity campaign that donate funds for breast cancer treatment. This year, we’re donating 10% of sales from all our pink items to the Kvitna fund – the Ukrainian non-profit organisation that supports women with breast cancer. We've also collaborated with Ukrainian photographer Sonya Sem on campaign to inspire women to embrace self-care and prioritise their health by scheduling an annual breast ultrasound.
