This Month’s Fitness Hot List

This January, fitness looks a little different. Gone are the crash plans and quick fixes – instead, it’s all about building strength that lasts, movement that fits around your life, and recovery that actually helps you feel better. Whether you're easing back in after a busy December or are ready to hit the ground running, these are the gyms, PTs and pieces of kit worth knowing about now.

Fittle

If January is about building small, sustainable habits, Fittle makes strength training feel far less daunting. The Fittle Box is essentially a complete home weights set-up disguised as a piece of furniture. Inside, everything you need for a full-body workout is neatly stored – dumbbells, a barbell, weight plates up to 75kg, resistance bands and a mat, all of which can be used at your own pace and adjusted as you get stronger. Start with just the dumbbells or bands, follow online workouts or your own routine, and gradually build confidence without ever stepping into a gym. The design is intentionally understated, which explains why it’s been picked up by Soho House and boutique hotels.

Aimee Victoria Long

Aimee Victoria Long has become one of London’s most in-demand PTs, known for a calm, structured approach that blends intelligent training with nutrition support. Her January Reset packages are offered in three tiers, depending on how much structure and support you want. Reset & Refresh (£275) includes weekly virtual PT, a personalised training and nutrition plan and regular check-ins. Total Wellness Jumpstart (£1,495) adds twice-weekly PT, a full nutrition consultation, in-home chef support and recovery treatments. At the top end, Ultimate New Year Transformation (£6,995) is a fully bespoke programme, incorporating blood testing, intensive training, chef services and weekly recovery – ideal for those who want everything taken care of.

Studio Anatomy

Studio Anatomy has become a go-to for those who like their workouts thoughtful and well-taught. Founded by Lotti Bernadout, it’s built a loyal following for low-impact classes that are intelligent, well-paced and challenging, with a strong emphasis on strength and everyday movement. The new Islington studio expands on the London Fields original, offering reformer Pilates and functional strength classes, alongside hot mat Pilates and infrared saunas. The heat element is used subtly – more about helping the body move and recovery than chasing sweat. The space itself is calm and light-filled, making it feel welcoming, even if you’re new to this style of training.

Train Yard

For those serious about strength – and particularly HYROX-style training – Train Yard is the place to know. With two locations in London, it’s built a reputation as a no-frills, high-performance gym that prioritises results. While it’s well known for its HYROX prep, the core appeal is its focus on functional movement – lifting, carrying, pushing and stabilising in ways that translate into everyday life. Sessions are coached, structured and progressive, making them accessible even if you’re new to strength work. You don’t need to be training for an event to belong here – many members simply want to feel stronger, more capable and more confident. Newcomers can get a two-week unlimited class pass for £49.

Yours Shoreditch

Infrared workouts are still having a moment, especially now when warmth, recovery and energy levels feel more important than ever. Yours’ new Shoreditch flagship – its largest London studio to date – brings together infrared-powered Hot Sculpt, Hot Pilates and recovery-focused sessions in a smart, design-led space. The infrared heat supports circulation and muscle recovery, meaning workouts feel effective without being draining. Phase two, arriving in early 2026, will add reformer Pilates and a dedicated recovery area.

Yogi Bare

Already a go-to for yoga lovers, Yogi Bare has expanded into Pilates with a thoughtfully designed new collection. The wrist and ankle weights are our top pick – soft, fabric-covered and far less clunky than traditional versions, they’re ideal for adding light resistance to Pilates, barre or even long walks. The Halo Pilates ring is designed for controlled strength work – think inner thighs, glutes and arms – and works particularly well for short, focused sessions at home, while the fabric resistance bands offer a step-up from latex bands, staying in place during glute bridges and side steps. Made with recycled materials and designed to last, they also reflect Yogi Bare’s commitment to more sustainable kit.

Raffles Run Club

Run clubs have become as much about community as fitness and Pillar Wellbeing’s new monthly run at Raffles London reflects that shift. Second Sundays combines a guided, sociable run through central London with a relaxed brunch at Pillar Kitchen and a panel discussion on topics like recovery, sleep and stress. The run is designed to be manageable and welcoming rather than fast or competitive, making it suitable even if you’re easing back into running. Brunch is nourishing, reflecting Pillar’s nutrition-led approach, and the discussions offer plenty of practical tips. At £30 per ticket, it’s an enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning – and more about feeling good than hitting a personal best.

TRX

TRX’s new weighted vest is a clever upgrade to make everyday movement work a little harder. Designed to sit close to the body, it adds 4.5g of evenly distributed weight without throwing off balance, which means it can be worn comfortably during walking, Pilates, strength training or even low-impact cardio. Over time, the added load supports strength, stability and bone density, all without extending workout time. The streamlined, adjustable design keeps it feeling discreet rather than bulky, making it a piece of kit you’ll reach for time and again.

Third Space

With the opening of its 14th club at The Whiteley, a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, Third Space continues to set the gold standard for luxury fitness in London. Set within a restored Grade II-listed building, the new club spans three floors and includes everything from a three-lane sled track to elite cardio and strength zones, five purpose-built studios and a soon-to-launch Wet Spa featuring a hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna and contrast therapy. Reformer Pilates and Mind & Body studios are flooded with natural light, while members can also make use of a spacious lounge, recovery zones and beautifully designed changing areas. The Whiteley may be the brand’s only club opening this year, but it’s a bold one, fusing high-performance fitness with serene, spa-level wellness.
