I’m an early riser. With spring in the air, I relish a long walk or run to clear my mind and set the tone for the day. Walking is so underrated. Our increasingly sedentary lifestyles are not making us healthier or happier. Walking helps to improve heart health, boosts mood and supports brain function. By 8:30am, I’m on the school run, bonding with my son over Premier League scores and Radio 1. By 9am, I’m in work mode.

Switching to a savoury breakfast has been a game changer. I used to have a casual attitude toward breakfast – some days I’d grab a banana and toast, other days I’d skip it altogether. But after interviewing countless nutritionists, doctors and female health practitioners on my podcast, I decided to experiment and practise their advice. I also wore a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) for four weeks, which allowed me to see in real-time how different foods and exercise impacted my glucose levels and metabolic response. Once I switched to a high-protein, savoury breakfast, I felt a change to my overall energy levels and mood within days. Eggs are my go-to – they’re not only a great source of high-quality protein and fats, but also contain key nutrients like vitamin D, choline, and omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain function, metabolism and overall health.

Strength training KEEPS ME STRONG and injury-free, so I can run MARATHONS FOR YEARS TO COME.

When it comes to supplements, I keep things simple. My daily routine includes vitamin D for immunity and mood support, B12 to aid energy production and omega-3 DHA for brain health. I also incorporate Ancient & Brave collagen cocoa into my protein shakes for skin elasticity and joint support. Additionally, magnesium is a staple for muscle relaxation and better sleep, while adaptogens like ashwagandha help me manage stress. These supplements help me stay energised, focused and resilient, especially when balancing work and family life.

Running is my ultimate mental reset. I’ve competed in endurance races worldwide, but strength training now plays a crucial role in keeping me strong and injury-free. I don’t enjoy it as much as running, but I know how important it is, especially as I get older. I want to remain strong, energised and injury free for as long as possible. I’d love to still be running marathons in ten years’ time.

I schedule my workouts as I would any important meeting – non-negotiable and firmly in the diary. If you struggle to be consistent, you need to add another level of commitment, which could be financial or emotional. For example, if you pay for personal training sessions, you'll show up because you've already paid for them. Or, if you sign up for a class with a friend, you’re more likely to follow through because you don’t want to let them down. These added commitments make it harder to back out.

For recovery, I swear by infrared sauna sessions. Research shows infrared saunas can improve muscle recovery by increasing circulation and reducing inflammation. The heat exposure also promotes relaxation and down-regulates the nervous system, which can improve sleep and overall wellbeing. I also visit SKINWORK  in Soho every six weeks for a facial – its signature City Cleanse is my go-to.

When life gets busy, I prioritise my sleep. It may sound boring, but I’ve learned it takes intentional effort to make sure I’m in bed before 10pm. Sometimes, I'll even go to bed at 9pm. The difference it makes the next day is huge. I also try to make mundane life tasks a bit easier, whether it’s doing an online food shop or ordering a meal prep bundle. Finding simple ways to eliminate some of those daily decisions frees up energy for more important things.

I’m disciplined about setting boundaries. I have learnt the power of saying no to what doesn’t serve me. We can so easily become overwhelmed when we’re overcommitted to things that don’t matter. If you don’t protect your time and your schedule, you’ll end up living your life based on everyone else’s demands and requests. Making time for therapy has been an integral part of my wellbeing journey. Therapy gives us tools for self-awareness, emotional regulation and navigating life’s challenges. Without this kind of understanding, we can unknowingly hold ourselves back – in our relationships, career or even in how we approach personal growth.

One practice I’ve tried but haven’t stuck to is meditation. I keep coming back to it, give it a go and then six months will pass before I try again. I’m not sure what the block is but I’m hopeful that one day I’ll find the right coach or tool, or maybe it’ll just be the right time in my life. I know the countless benefits of meditation, the science proves it, and my friends remind me of it all the time but for now, it’s still something I haven’t managed to make a habit.

Therapy has been an INTEGRAL PART OF MY JOURNEY. Therapy GIVES US THE TOOLS FOR SELF-AWARENESS, emotional regulation and growth.

A book that’s left a mark on me is A Well Lived Life by Dr Gladys McGarey. I had the privilege of interviewing her on my podcast when she was 102 – I love her compassion, energy and wisdom.

Travel is my biggest wellness investment. Whether it’s Italy, Norway, Japan or Barbados, exploring new places with my husband and kids nourishes both my mind and body. For me, travel is so much more than just experiencing a new culture – trying new foods, making memories and gaining a different perspective is all part of the adventure.
