ALO Wellness Club

If you haven’t come across ALO yet, you soon will. The LA-born brand – launched in 2007 – has long been ahead of the curve with its green credentials and a lifestyle built around how people want to move, live and feel. Now, the ALO Wellness Club – an evolution of its much-loved ALO Moves platform – has relaunched as a free app, offering a constantly refreshed library of Pilates, yoga, strength, mindfulness and recovery classes led by some of the world’s top instructors. Classes are designed to be mixed and matched based on how you feel, rather than locking you into a rigid programme. The content mirrors ALO’s in-club experience (there are over 50 locations in the US), going beyond fitness to offer wellness series, recovery rituals and nutrition guidance.

Euan Baker

Crafted at Powdermills

Crafted at Powdermills doesn’t feel like a traditional wellness destination – and that’s exactly the point. Set within ancient East Sussex woodland and founded by Chris King – the name behind Birch – it’s redefining the modern members’ club as somewhere you can work, eat well, move, swim, create, and feel part of a community. Days might start with a cold swim in the private lake, followed by forest yoga or time in the lakeside sauna, before drifting into something creative – think pottery, printmaking or foraging – in the Craft Barn tucked in the woods. You’ll also find a spa, two padel courts and bright, airy studios offering everything from HIIT to barre. Food is seasonal and relaxed, rooms are calm and design-led, and there’s a strong sense of belonging. Membership starts from £180 a month, but day visitors and overnight guests are equally welcome.

Pounce Padel

Padel is having a moment – it’s fun, social and less intimidating than most racquet sports – and Pounce taps into that energy perfectly. Female-founded, the brand’s thoughtfully designed, teardrop-shaped racquets strike the ideal balance between control and power, making them easy to play with from day one yet still responsive as your confidence grows. They’re light, comfortable on the arm, and forgiving if your technique isn’t perfect yet. Bonus points for the playful designs, which offer a refreshing change from the overly masculine options often seen on court.

Superoom

If you’ve been mushroom-curious for a while but wary of what you’re taking, Superoom is one to try. The brand focuses on purity and potency – rare in this category – using the most effective part of the mushroom and designed so your body can actually absorb it. The ingredients are organic, sustainably sourced from Finland and the range is deliberately small and easy to understand. Two products stand out – Reishi is the one to reach for when stress levels are running high or sleep feels off, while Lion’s Mane is a daytime tool known for supporting focus, mental clarity and sustained concentration, without the jittery edge of caffeine. All its formulas are liquid, so they’re easy to use and designed to slot seamlessly into your routine.

Flowlife

Red light therapy has been bubbling under for a while and now Scandinavian recovery brand Flowlife has made it accessible. Newly launched at John Lewis, its red-light panels use specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light that encourage your cells to work more efficiently, which over time can support muscle recovery, calmer joints, healthier skin and steadier energy. The smaller Panel Go is ideal for targeted use – post-workout legs, tired shoulders and skin – while the larger 1500 Seven Waves panel is the full-body, studio-at-home option. Ten minutes a day is all it takes to make recovery feel noticeably easier.

Reformer Retreats

Happening in early March, this is the retreat to have on your radar. Hosted at Anthology Farm – a design-led property in the Cotswolds – it’s deliberately small and low-key, offering more of a private house stay than a conventional wellness retreat. The standout factor is the calibre and care of the teaching. Days are anchored by classical reformer Pilates led by top PT Sophie Hatton, with sessions tailored to be beginner-friendly yet still challenging for those with more experience. Yoga, in partnership with The Yoga Collaboration, is grounding – think gentle morning flows and slow evening practices designed to settle the nervous system. Outside of classes, there’s lymphatic therapy, group coaching, seasonal plant-based food from a Leith’s-trained chef, and long, unstructured stretches of time to rest or roam.

Tyler Aromatherapy

Every so often, a new brand cuts through the noise – and Tyler Aromatherapy is exactly that. The brand brings a functional approach to scent, pairing pure essential oils with understated, refillable packaging that wouldn’t look out of place in a Cotswolds-meets-Copenhagen interior. The refillable candles are already building cult status – hand-poured into ceramic vessels, each one is designed to be reused and re-loved. Rosa – a warm, balancing blend of rose geranium, patchouli and bitter orange – is a standout. We also love its newest launch, Sanctuary Mist, which is designed to bring instant calm. Vegan, small-batch and crafted in the UK, Tyler Aromatherapy is one to watch.

Wow Cacao

If you’re over coconut water, this is the upgrade. Wow Cacao is the new-gen hydration drink made from the upcycled juice of the cacao fruit – a naturally sweet, nutrient-rich liquid that’s typically discarded from the chocolate industry. Packed with antioxidants, vitamin C and electrolytes, it delivers 20% of your daily potassium per bottle, making it a smart swap for post-gym recovery, glowing skin or an afternoon energy boost. Taste-wise, it’s light, refreshing and slightly tropical, without the cloying sweetness of many functional drinks. Available in still and sparkling versions, it’s one of the most exciting new drinks we’ve tried in a while.

The Newt

Already known for its unique blend of heritage, horticulture and hospitality, The Newt in Somerset has introduced something new – Live Well at The Newt, a series of winter retreats designed to restore energy, build resilience and reconnect with the rhythms of the season. Move – taking place from 11th-13th February – focuses on reconnecting with rhythm and strength through embodied movement, estate-based running sessions with Tracksmith, functional yoga and contrast therapy. The follow-up, Balance (11th-13th March), takes a more introspective approach, with breathwork, Ayurvedic teaching and nourishing workshops – including kombucha making – all designed to support long-term resilience. As ever with The Newt, the beauty lies in the details – from thoughtfully curated sessions to time left intentionally open for spa access, stillness and slow exploration.
