FOOD & DRINK

IGNI London

Following the closure of HUMO, the space has been quickly reimagined as IGNI, a new fire-led concept from chef Theo Clench. The stripped-back, 34-cover restaurant (plus an intimate chef’s table) continues the no gas, no electricity approach, with everything cooked over flame – but this time the focus shifts firmly to seafood. Drawing on coastal influences, the set menus spotlight carefully sourced produce with dishes like ember-cooked oysters, aged turbot with smoked bone caramel and tuna paired with foie gras and wasabi. It’s technical, ingredient-driven cooking with a clear point of view – and one of the more exciting openings in Mayfair right now.

Dumbo x Seb Myers

Dumbo is teaming up with chef Seb Myers for a limited-edition collaboration that gives its cult smash burgers a more refined twist. Equal parts comfort food and chef-driven experiment, it’s exactly the kind of crossover London does best. Available for a short run in Shoreditch, the special layers Dumbo’s signature patty with a rich gribiche-inspired sauce and crisp frites on the side, before finishing things off with a sundae.

Burnt Arches

East London bakery group Burnt has expanded again with the launch of Burnt Arches in Bethnal Green. The new site acts as both bakery and all-day spot, serving up the team’s cult pastries – including pistachio croissants and seasonal fruit chaussons – alongside sandwiches and coffee. From May, things ramp up with a full brunch and lunch offering, followed by a more ambitious evening menu that leans into bold, comforting dishes with a twist. It’s a natural next step for a brand that’s built a loyal following.

It also has a strong cast led by Joshua James (Black Mirror) and the added atmosphere of an open-air setting.
